Remap lost after couple of days???

This is true of all modern cars if you change the mixture to eek out more power, the ecu will trim the fuel back until the lambda sensors are happy. The only way to stop this from happening is to fit a lambda emulator which tells the ecu the mixture is right at all revs/throttle positions. This...

    Best re-map?

^ you're so right about experience with engines making the map better. I know a guy who remaps Nissan 200sx's and a year or so after he released his stage 1/2 remaps he released a revision which released a whole load more power, just from learning more about how the engine responds. Rich

Any noticable difference in later Euro 5 RS 200 engines?

Would be interesting to see if Renault will explain what they did to conform to Euro 5 emissions and maybe get a collection of RR results against euro5/6 cars to see if they really DO have the same bhp/torque. I'll post on the renaultsport forum to see if anyone at Renault will respond... Rich

Any noticable difference in later Euro 5 RS 200 engines?

Hmm, it's interesting that they can reduce the CO2 by 5mg without losing performance in any way - why didn't they do this from the start? I had assumed they were using some kind of exhaust recirculation system (EGR) and they just increased the level of exhaust being fed back into the engine...

Any noticable difference in later Euro 5 RS 200 engines?

Hi, was just wondeing if anyone has noticed any difference between the 'old' RS 200 engine which was tuned to euro 4 regs and the new one, which came in around September 2010 to meet euro 5 regs. The only noticable difference is that the CO2 has dropped from 195g to 190g. From a quick bit of...

    Brakes Vibration High Speed

Ah, sorry.. a warped disc or deposits are felt through the steering wheel. The ABS will feel like something tapping you on the bottom of your foot when it activates. Rich

    Brakes Vibration High Speed

You'll need to look with a torch or in daylight to see the matt patches.. Here's my old car with the issue, pretty bad! - just the slightest residue can cause the shake though. A good sanding down and the brakes were as good as new! Just to explain how it felt: I could drive around town...

    Warrenty

I thought the basic principle was that any modificatoins cannot void the warranty unless it can be proved (by them) that it was the cause. This is course is hugely expensive and they'll probably fix it outof 'good will' to save the time going to small claims court! Rich

Could do with some graphs to back the reviews up chaps.. i.e. as it rolled in vs. mapped. Rich

    Brakes Vibration High Speed

It's unlikely anything is wrong with the disc.. warped disc normally refers to stuff pad material on the disc face which gives that 'grabby' sensation when you step on the brakes. If you've cooked your pads by some heavy 'high-speed' > 0mph stops then this might be the problem. If it IS, you...

    RS Monitor

The only useful data the monitor provides is oil temp anyway from what I've seen. I.e. bhp and torque can only be based in injector and rpm data, then there's a direct tps value (throttle position). The g-meter must be build onto the device... but then just about all mobiles have this ability...

    RS Monitor

The monitor just takes in data from the ecu, probably the obd2 port which is a standard diagnostic port on all modern cars. The ecu knows the throttle position, the oil temp, water temp, ignition advance, injector duty, and much more... so the monitor pack could be a whole lot more geek than it...

    Its been 1 week & 800 miles...

Also.. with 800 miles under it's belt, the Brembo pads(?) might still be bedding in. I drove a Elise once with Brembo pads and they were like blocks of wood! Rich

    Its been 1 week & 800 miles...

Best review ever.... If you get a chance, can you work the mpg out on paper? i.e. L in vs miles covered Roll on March :'( Rich

    Running in a new car...

^ I agree. When I get my car I'll probably give it the 600 miles as per book (just in case the ECU logs rpm/miles if I'm in a warranty situation)... then after that, I'll drive it for what it was built - thrashing! It's interesting how there so much varience on MPG and RR results with these...

    Newbie here - hi!

Yeah, that's what mine is doing now... Is it just me concerned that someone will take it out as a demonstrator or have people 'testing out' the Recaro seats?! I should be more trusting... Rich
