Same as my set up. Step 1: OEM setup > unplug vacuum pipe from trumpet. Step 2: Plug vacuum pipe with a small bolt. Step 3: Run a cold feed from lower grill upto trumpet. :thumbup:

I get mid 20's mpg (22 to 28mpg) on 'my' normal driving. (95% motorway) around 280 miles a tank (thats from full till the red light comes on) However i have had 350 miles out of a tank (twice) when i went to silverstone. That was keeping to 70 and not booting it at all.

Think the only thing stopping me was i didn't want any loss of back pressure. I have thought about it now and prob will get it cut out.

Now something like that maybe worth looking at as a replacment for my 200, think id have to have the Garret hybrid GT28 fitted :)

Think its time i found someone local who can remove my center box, so many people are doing it now.

Yes and yes to the second part. I removed the whole unit when i first did mine but put it back on when i took it to Renault for its 1st service, after it was serviced i just put the extra pipe from the grill onto the trumpet and removed the vacume pipe. Maybe not as good as the 1st way but...

Wonder why they have don that? I know Lotus used to put wider tyres on the rear and have quite narrow tyres on the front this made them turn in sharper etc. I have 225's on mine and not noticed any differance at all apart from bringing the speedo down 1 mph making it more in line with what...

yeah that sounds like the one Ryan, im sure it was only when he put his foot hard down. Will have to watch it again as it was quite a while ago when i saw it. Either way mine is open all the time.

not true mate, its open most of the time. It closes and reopens at various stages of the rev range. There was a video knocking around that someone did to show what it did.

Take the vacuum pipe off (and plug it closed) then attach a pipe onto your air feed down to the front grill. This will give you cold air and stop the flap from shuting. Gains from doing this?????? who knows. I think its miles better, car pulls better. But that is my thoughts only.

Yes i agree. The copper should of known in the first 30 seconds how it was going to end up so he should of just give him a slap on the wrist and sent him on his way rather than end up looking like a nob.
