Service book folder stolen by garage!!

Hi my Renault service book folder has gone missing from my car when it was either at Quik Fit or another local tyre fitter who have both had my car on Friday and Saturday. It's always kept in the boot under the boot net and since Friday has disappeared. The locking wheel nuts are kept in the...

I'm doing a Mac vs. PC presentation...

Things have changed since the release of Windows 7. 64 bit systems are a lot cheaper and if they are built and maintained properly then they are just as stable and secure as a Mac. Mac's are very elegant in their design but personally out of their range I would only buy a Mac Book Air because...

This is the type of stuff I have read about in the Economist.

    Give me any good reasons...

I read in the Economist that a lot of investment bankers are moving back to London despite the extra tax they have to pay here. Switzerland apparently although cheaper on tax was really expensive for certain commodities and there are many aspects of their economy that isn't as well developed as...

    Beat mates wrx sti

Fair play. Actually that's kinda true about the RS but not really. There was an ECU issue with the earlier cars but was rectified with an update. Any decent RS that's been updated and run in is definitely putting out good figures. 4wd causes more drag mate. I would rather be in a well balanced...

    Wheel spacers, Idiots guide?

The thing is if you widen the track you need to adjust the front and rear camber to accommodate it. Suspension setup is a combination of adjustments that are made to suit the driver and the surface being driven on. Spacers are pointless imo

    Beat mates wrx sti

That's a bit of a generalisation that "any Impreza" is going to beat a Clio 200. As I said in my previous post an STI is no doubt going to have a Clio 200 in a straight line but a standard WRX from 2005 which has 227bhp is not. The extra power needed to drive the 4wd chassis and the extra...

    kw v3'd the clio

Too low man, especially the rear. Is it for track? You simply don't have enough height and damping there to deal with the road. The Cup cars are lower and more cambered at the front to reduce understeer and help with the turn in. The rear should be less extreme to give a bit of oversteer...

    Petition about clio power figures...

A waste of time, lots of cars don't make their claimed power, especially n/a. What they do make is their claimed top speed and 0-60 figures, which is ultimately what the car is suppost to achieve. The myth about them not making the claimed power can be down to a lot of factors and there are...

197: Slow performance at motorway speed

Sounds like you have something wrong, it should be really quick at 60k miles. Do you know if it's had the Renault ECU remap? I'd check tyre pressures, alignment, oil and filter first. If that all checks out then I'd take it to a specialist and have it looked at.

    Beat mates wrx sti

They're not that quick, especially on a twisty road/track. I've had plenty of playtime with Scoobies in my R27 and 200 in the last four years of ownership. Some of these are tuned ones with big exhausts etc... The RS chassis is better by a mile! You can brake later and carve out corners...

    Oil recomendation?

I use Shell Helix Fully Synthetic every 6k. If it's a new car at 10k you might want to replace the oil now anyway. Alot of people change their oil every 6k. On my old R27 I noticed after about 8k into each service interval the car was not as responsive and a bit crappy from cold. It was at...

    Worrying judder

I still say it could be something as simple as the alignment. This causes juddering as you pull away and is very common. My clutch on my old R27 was wearing and it didn't really judder if anything it was less responsive when pulling away.

    Worrying judder

Either your engine mounts are shot or your tracking is out. How many miles has your car done? Is it old/new? If your tracking is out the car will feel heavy and tiresome to drive and the engine will judder as you pull away. This is why you should get your tracking done regularly otherwise the...

Clio 200 buying options (and hello!)

Get the recaros. I've had them on a 197 and now my 200. They look special and are so supportive, complimenting the performance of the car. They are very very comfortable and I've done tens of thousands of miles in them with no problems. Initially getting in and out is a bit different but it's a...

PC's and home cinema setups! (geek content)

It's quick...7 seconds perhaps to a clean desktop. The thing is you then start running all you apps from boot because it's so quick and mines now doing it in probably 9 seconds. There are other benefits. If you have a decent amount RAM then the o/s will automatically load (superfetch) all your...
