I find the standard throttle response quite poor for fast heel and toe downshifts. Used to be able to do it in my old mini but that had a race weight flywheel so would whip up the revs in a split second. In the clio now I have to try really hard and bend my foot at a crazy angle to rev it hard...
Sometimes its difficult to tell if bulbs are blown just by looking at them. For the cost of replacements, i'd just try changing them before you think about anything else.
I hammered mine for hours and they didn't move at all. The punch just started destroying the end of the pin making it harder to get a good hit on them.
I took it to my trusted local garage and it took them 2 days to change the pads - Thats how bad they were!
I had one for a couple of years as a run around. Did 25k miles in it and generally found it was cheap to run, looked decent, reliable, cheap parts. All round decent car I thought, and when I sold it I only lost £200 on it too.
I've read before about melting diffusers with non standard exhausts that haven't been fitted 100% correct, but my exhaust is the standard system and the tips I fitted are the ebay ones that many people have fitted on the forum.
I was surprised myself to be honest, after each decent fast drive...
Is the diffuser a straight swap between the 2 cars? How much should I expect to pay for a used 200 diffuser?
The diffuser on my 197 has been melted quite badly by the exhaust tips i've fitted. Not sure why because they've been fitted for months, but only in the last few weeks has the melting...
My cars just done over 80k, still feels sweet to me.
I wouldn't be put off by the issues to be honest. I'm sure i've read on here people are getting recon boxes fitted for around £800 at independent garages - Not too bad considering the money people spend on mods
There is a spot under the light to mount the ballast, but this will only really work if you go for a slim ballast kit.
Once fitted I cable tied the inline boxes to the inner wing to keep it all neat:
Can't see then being much good to be honest. The latest CREE LED bulbs are pretty dam bright, but still rely on fancy magnifying lenses to get any range out of them. Can't see how that'd work with standard reflectors still in place
Thanks guys,
I find that the first few smacks are really difficult to get a lot of force on because the actual flat point of contact on the end of the pin is only 3mm diameter at the most. I do have a set of good quality punches, but they seem to just flatten the head of the pin like whats...
Well today I spent 3 hours on my second attempt at removing my brake pins and still no luck. If anything i've made the pins worse.
Bare in mind my calipers are in especially bad/neglected condition. Probably the worst most will have seen (not my doing - only had the car a couple of months) see...
You will need an adaptor for the stalk controls to work, not sure on the mic though. I would of thought the mic will use a normal 3.5mm jack, but parrot may have something fancy instead.
Yeah I checked there too but I wanted the RBF600 fluid as its got a higher wet boiling point and doesn't need changing as often so its better for a daily driven road car.
Larkspeed charge a flat rate of £10 postage so wanted to make the most of that by getting the fluid on the same order too.
Well in the end I took the plunge and just ordered a set of DS2500's this morning.
My brakes are getting worse by the day and if proper OEM pads are gona cost £100, then the DS2500 don't seem that expensive. Got them for £130 from Larkspeed so not too bad, also ordered 3 x 500ml bottles of...
I'll try and find that thread then and do some reading on fluids.
Brake pad wise, looking for Genuine Brembo pads. Can get there for around £65 from people on the forum, but just found this website linked in a thread I found...
