What modifications have you made to your 197/200? What do you really think of them?

Agreed. Numbnut's post is very informative. In a similar style, my mods are: Milltek resonated cat back exhaust -Nice bit of kit, not too loud and in your face but you know it's there. Nice burble with gentle driving and a few cheeky pops from the exhaust when it's hot. Sounds great at high...

    Modifying 197/200

The only big difference between the 197 and 200 that's worth mentioning is the gearbox ratios were changed on the 200 to make it a bit less frantic on the motorway when cruising at 70mph. There were various other little tweaks to the design too, the engine remains largely the same bar some...

    Modifying 197/200

Welcome, the Clio 197/200s are cracking cars out of the box. Sadly they aren't as tuneable as say the Honda K20s out of the Civics. You could go for a cat back exhaust, panel filter and a remap which wouldn't hurt the wallet too badly. This would give you a lift across the revs of between...

    MTEC Disc Coating

I'd deffo be sending them an e-mail with those pictures in! I wouldn't expect them to be showing any rust so soon. It could just be surface oxidation but considering they look far worse for ware than the fronts I'd be seeing what they have to say and pushing for replacements!

    Hello, new RS200 owner

Welcome, they are cracking cars to drive. Not the fastest in a straight line but it's one of the better handling hot hatches out there past or present. What cars have you had in the past out of interest? I've had quite a few myself. A Civic EP3 Type R, Corsa VXR Nurburg and a Fabia vRS more...

    Front Speaker Help

Nice one, might opt for them instead of the Pioneer ones then! £24 cheaper too which is a bonus. Yeah I've heard the tweeter brackets are a PITA to remove.

    197: New Fiesta ST

Haha you do have to be careful going up against turbo cars! The mk5 golf gtis are 197bhp standard so mapped and messed your prob talking anything from 230-300bhp. A good desiel remapped can also be a fair wepon on the road. Lot of sleepers out there that's for sure!

    Front Speaker Help

I would say that no matter what speakers you go for, always invest in some sound deadening. Makes the world of difference to the mid/bass response especially on door speakers. A lot of people seem to go for the pioneer ones I linked due to ease of fitment but there are better options out there...

    Front Speaker Help

How are these speakers out of interest? Any issues fitting them, particularly the tweeters - do they fit ok in the factory mount? I've been looking at the custom fit pioneers here but the vibe ones do look to be a better spec and even with having to buy adapters it works out cheaper.

A few shots of the Clio in the sunset

Yeah it is, just before the cattle grid coming from the A59 direction. Can't wait for summer to get some decent shots with the cam, just need to figure out how to use it properly lol.

A few shots of the Clio in the sunset

First proper pictures of the Clio I've taken since getting her 6-7 months ago. Fairly standard example bar a Milltek exhaust and a few other little bits.

    Landsail

I wouldn't run any of those tyres on a road car but that's just me, generally track focused tyres are absolutely shocking in the wet/cold weather, which in the UK we have pretty much 80% of the time!

The only tyres I'd want to run on the Clio are Continental, Goodyear or Michellin. You really do get what you pay for with tyres, Camskill are very good price wise but bear in mind fitting is extra at your chosen tyre place.

    misfire / hesitation

Plugs, coil pack, cam sensor on the duff are all things that can cause poor running. What sort of fuel do you run the car on? Tried any injector/fuel treatments to clean a potential blocked injector? The FORTE stuff is very good.

    possibility of camshaft adjustment

I was just about to ask if your from a foreign background, it explains the wording in some of your posts. English is known as one of the hardest languages to learn in the world believe it or not. A bit off topic but this is an interesting read...

    Coolant Loss

How long have you owned the car? It should be covered anyway if it's less than 3 months, your AA warranty might cover it if it's longer than that but it all depends on the warranty and small print! Sometimes they are a bit crap and only cover catastrophic failures such as engine/gearbox with...

    Hello from Cumbria

They are cracking cars to drive, might not be the fastest in a straight line but the steering feel and handling is so direct and go-kart like. I've had mine about 6-7 months, only issues so far are the flat spot, but I've learnt to live with it as a quirk of the car! A bit of a rattle from the...

    200: KIA Cee'd GT

It's a shame, OK they aren't the cleanest of engines but they are arguably more fun in certain situations - have to ring their neck to get the best from them. Anyone can drive a turbo car quickly it's just point and squirt.
