    New Honda Civic Type R

As much as I love Honda Type Rs I have to say I'm not a huge fan of the latest ones. The thing that makes a Type R to me is VTEC and high revs. Both of which were killed off in favor of a 2L turbo lump which is what every man and his dog is going for these days. That's not to say it isn't a...

    What's it worth

Sounds reasonable looking at what similar ones are up for on Autotrader near me, but I'd be tempted to put it up for say £6,500 so you've got a bit of haggle room. The fact the belts have been done recently and the ball joints which are two big jobs is a bonus so make sure you include that in...

    Dreaded timing belt

The £720 price was actually from somewhere up near me in Lancashire! From a well known specialist as well, I was quite shocked at the price difference. I got the full kit inc the pulley fitted at ALS for the £450 mark. No reason it should cost more unless they're charging like £80-£100 an hour...

    Dreaded timing belt

https://www.als-performance.com/kits/specialist-kits/cambelt-kit?zenid=39f066375ce09f72d066883946c8566d ^ All genuine Renault parts. They also offer a fitting service if your near by and are based just outside of Carlsile. I drove 2+ hours to go up and get it done there. Think I paid about £450...

    Honda CIVIC FN2

I owned the older EP3 Type R for about 3 years a few years ago which was said to be the better one. The FN2 is said to be more refined, grown up but it lost some of it's charm. I suppose it's similar to the argument of a Clio 182 vs 197! Pros and cons to both. Standard vs Standard there won't...

    What shifts do you work?

Very good advice this, the grass isn't always greener as the say!

Could it be classed as a hot hatch......?

Very nice, I went out in a friends 135i a few weeks ago and it just blew me away. I've been in some fast cars but the BMW was effortless and felt like it had power from seemingly any revs/gear. Makes the Clio feel like a 1.2 in comparison lol.

    What shifts do you work?

9-5 and all that traffic to and from work... no thanks ;-)

    What shifts do you work?

I work for a food manufacturing company supporting all the IT equipment in the office and the factory floor. I do 3 shifts that rotate on a two weekly basis plus one Saturday a month. From the end of October to Christmas is our busy period so I'm usually in pretty much every Saturday. It's nice...

    MPG

My commute to work is only about 11-12miles? Is it going to work resetting it for such a short distance? Pretty much the same sort of traffic conditions too there and back so not much variation, it's mainly 60-70 mph A roads for 95% of the commute. Think I'm going to do it the old fashioned way...

    Unleaded vs Super Unleaded

Can't say I've noticed a huge difference in performance or MPG when I switch to super and I've tried it for a good few tanks. I think for people who might have a dirty fuel system such as deposits on the injectors them super unleaded 'might' help with cleaning them and help restore lost power.

    MPG

Mine always seems to hover around 28MPG on the readout. Tempted to change the lambdas to see if it improves slightly because even when I do take it easy I don't really seem to get better lol.

    Family member stealing!

1001% tell your dad. There is NO excuse for stealing, which is what it is. Sadly I've fallen out with a few so called 'friends' who I've lent money to and they've messed about paying me back but that's different. Family or not as said above once a thief always a thief. Who's to say he won't do...

Anyone else in a work Lottery syndicate ?

No idea, I know what your saying but sometimes you just have to have a little faith that not everyone is out there to screw you over I guess!

    trip to the uk :D

Plenty of nice places to visit in the UK depending on where your staying and what your after. If your after some cracking driving roads then look here... http://www.drivingforpleasure.co.uk/roads-and-tours/uk-roads.php Scenery wise the lake district is fantastic, there is a section of road up...

Anyone else in a work Lottery syndicate ?

Also some info here... https://www.national-lottery.co.uk/c/files/syndicate-pack.pdf I don't think it's quite as simple as just taking the money off everyone and buying tickets? They have a thing you can set up specifically for syndicates according to this.

Anyone else in a work Lottery syndicate ?

Suppose that depends if your an rsole or not doesn't it? If I thought our syndicate was being run by someone dodgy I wouldn't be paying into it haha. Wouldn't surprise me if something like that has happened somewhere in the world where someone has run off with the winning pot!

Anyone else in a work Lottery syndicate ?

I've recently joined our works one run by the woman in accounts, she keeps detailed info on spreadsheets as you can imagine. Everyone usually pays up £10-£20 each payday to solve the problem of having to get £2 a week off each person, seems to work quite well. Pretty good value as well for £2...

    197 advice, help needed!

Agree with the consensus here. Even though it is low mileage for it's age, very low considering it's almost 10 years old! I'd say it's on the pricey side given that the service history is patchy and there is no record of the cam belt/water pump ever being done. Irrespective of the low mileage...
