This has been discussed before mate the consensus was the Launch control and torque meant it was always going to win a drag race. The difference will be in braking and cornering :)

This is true but I've started looking at late mx5 mk1's or early cheap mx5 mk2's.. easily modified (read turbo'ed) and a lot of cheap mods (good name coil overs for £500 etc). So many choices!
