    Emissions FAIL clarifications

Took to an alternative MOT tester who confirmed bad emissions They then run diagnostics which didnt pinpoint anything Instructed them to replace O2 sensor front, as advice earlier in this thread They went ahead clarifying they would not be liable for the replacement failing to resolve issue...

    Emissions FAIL clarifications

Yes, thats what i thought. They have used diagnostic tools and found nothing, and there are no lights It does smell rich, and mpg not good- so as other contributors suggested have asked for the pre cat 02 sensor to be changed, then see where we are As said, the Cat (Supplied by Milltek) has...

    Emissions FAIL clarifications

We'll see. Not spending lots on it. Mechanics did say pop in tomorrow to discuss solutions. Am too old to be crawling under cars. The other factor is the cost of Track days has escalated dramatically last couple years. An average one is £300+ all in, when it used to be less than £200.

    Emissions FAIL clarifications

Took it to another place for diagnostics, and they're used to Clios, and it still failed even after Cat was "red hot". So, worst comes to worse, and it's change both sensors at least £100 each, then new milltek sportscat fitted for £650, then belts due Feb for £650, then possible new remap...

    Emissions FAIL clarifications

Have bitten the bullet, and as i cant get to the connector of the lambda sensor on exhaust manifold from axle stands, have booked it in to get investigated. £45 for diagnostic and booked me in next day (Leave it there and they can have a look when they can) which i thought pretty good Lets see...

    Emissions FAIL clarifications

Think i will take back to MOT tester, and have a chat and see if he can retest (After ive run through some CAT cleaner) and if test fails again ask him to replace the sensors, then if it still fails, may have to replace the Milltek Sportscat. I dont mind replacing the sportscat at £550 odd...

    Emissions FAIL clarifications

Thanks for this. This diagram was shown to me in a parts retailer store. They were pretty confused which was applicable to where, as well. (And confuses matters a bit more when mine has after market milltek exhaust with a sportscat, but assume the sensors would be same anyway to marry up with...

    Emissions FAIL clarifications

Just phoned Renault Main Dealer spare parts for info- and I know theres lots threads and comment on this site bout LAMBDA sensors So- 7700107433 is the correct pre Cat sensor (£168.07 + VAT) They then said the after CAT sensor was 8200590431 (£168.06 plus VAT) when around this site it says...

    Emissions FAIL clarifications

No, they arent cheap. atm trying to find a video showing removal Believe there is one on the manifold (accessible engine bay?) and another on the CAT itself

    Emissions FAIL clarifications

My mechanic thinks they didnt get it hot enough, although i did get it up to temperature, idling, for 20 mins before i went in Looking at swapping out the pre and after Cat sensors if it has both, anyone got links? (2006 model 197). Seemingly the connector plugs can be a problem, and OEM parts...

    Emissions FAIL clarifications

Clio 197 failed emissions today- big style CO2 was 10% (Should not be above 0,2%) HydroCarbons 900-1500ppm (Should not be above 200ppm) Lambda 0.7 (Should be between 0.97-1.03) Tester suggested new LAMBDA sensors and new Catalytic converter That seems strange when i only fitted the Milltek...

    Ktec induction

Did this result in any gains (Even minimal, or feeling of more free flowing) or does it just add noise?

    Alternator goosed?

Yes. Turning over fine but getting nowhere after several attempts Checked my paperwork and cant see a new battery fitted in last 6 years So, as Ive done in past (And never regretted) bought a new Youasa battery and will fit it tomorrow Think will keep the charged up old one in the boot for...

    New to 197

Similar to me. Spent a fair few quid upgrading a 172 Phase 1 a while back, after 5 years moved to a 197 after writing it off at Brands Hatch. Didnt fancy spending lots on the 197 replacement, even removed knackered KTEC coilovers and put standard suspension back on. Remapped first off...
