@EthanMenace is it possible to remove the front belts whilst the cage is still in place? Always looked difficult to me

I had enough space on the drivers side to get it all out but as the cage sits a bit closer to the passenger side I just had to pivot it forwards a tiny bit to get the bolt at the top.

How much do you charge!?

I toyed with yellow harnesses for mine but they only had black in stock at the time. Those shoulder pads are a big improvement though when you run a 3" harness, mine cut into my shoulders until I slapped the pads on, now it's much nicer to use them!

Loving the progress so far though. Full cage coming soon?

"I don't want a full cage..."

Check back in about 12 months time and maybe there will be a full cage, who knows? I really like where the car is at the moment but I doubt it will stay the same for much longer. The half cage and harnesses make it seem more like a track car than a car that goes out on a track. The car will continue to evolve so I have no idea where the journey will take us. But, we are definitely past the point of no return now. There is little point trying to keep the car in a condition that can be put back to OEM if it is really going to be used and enjoyed.

A yellow themed ZPO is likely to be be next big purchase.

Bucket seats will be soon, as the recaros won't cut it....mark my words...

We both love the yellow dot recaros but know they’ll have to go eventually

it’s at least some kind of consolation knowing they regularly sell for £1400+ when we come to buy buckets

Thing is they were great when it was more road than track and standard belts, but now with harnesses and cage, a bucket seat is way better and it'll make you faster as you'll feel more secure in the seat so can corner harder (the mental barrier that you overcome).

Yep as you said you'll get a shit tonne of money for them too, so will easily cover a set of good seats.

Think twice before selling them recaros! They’ll fetch ridiculous money in the coming years. May be worth storing them if funds permitted. Be a good investment.
Suj is right the recaros with harnesses will be a marked improvement over a seat belt but for ultimate confidence a high sided fixed seat is the way to go
