Silverstone Edition 200 - AST 5100

They're mint! Who did you get them from & how much if you don't mind me asking?

Got them from RPD. They are supposed to be refurbed units but I’m convinced they are brand new!

They were around £190 each and you get £20 for each calliper you send back. Will be keeping my old ones however.

Ah yeah I've bought rear calipers from rpd. Said they were refurbed but I can't see how as they're absolutely mint [emoji23]

Ah okay!

Funnily enough I’m convinced mine are brand new too, I just fitted a front set from them a couple of days ago. The machining on all the surfaces is perfect, paint perfect, no signs of any sort of repair.

Yeah thats what I was thinking, the machined faces are just too perfect.

Got mine fitted today with some new DS1.11 and HC discs.

Full system bled with fresh fluid too. All this work on the car but nowhere to drive it.

How have you found the AST’s since you fitted them? I’m debating ordering some.

Car certainly looks a bunch better in terms of stance and camber.

The car is a lot more stable and flat on cornering when on B roads but can get a bit bumpy. Need to try soften up the dampers and give that a go. In all honesty I haven’t really pushed them too much since getting them fitted. Not done many road miles and only done a few laps of the ring where I don’t fancy pushing to hard due to the potential consequences. Been really itching to get on my local track and I’ll know for sure how they compare but obviously this virus has put that all on hold.

I’d say if your car was a daily and won’t be getting track’d much then I wouldn’t go for them

White wheels put back on just because I miss them. Need some rear camber, anyone had much experience with fitting camber shims? I know you need to counteract with toe shims but just not sure what mix is best.

Also in regards to Mr Pink pins, Is this movement normal? Obviously once the spring is in it doesn't move as freely but just checking

Yep that's normal without the spring clip in, same as brakes on 200sx, Skyline, Impreza etc.

Never had any movement with my set of Mr Pink pins and they were secure even without the R-clips.

He hasn't got the spring clips in, so it's just the pins and R-clips. Once the spring clips are in there is no movement.

I know, my pins didn't move even without the R-clips or spring clips, they were always a tight fit.

After refreshing the hubs with new ball joints and anti rotation links there was still a very slight knock at low speed and tracking not quite right. Fitted new TREs and all this work as made the car feel SO good again. Mixed with the new full front brake setup it just too good. Went for a good drive today pushing her hard, damn these cars are good!

Got a chance to push the coilovers a bit and they are amazing. Dampers softened up a bit for the road and there is so much grip with no dramas, great turn in, little to no roll, whats not to love.

Here's the only downside to running white wheels though:

Rear wishbone powerflex failed recently. Got a new one from powerflex which is a different design to prevent this again.

Also decided to fit new wishbone ball joints. Got the uprated items from @Raptor6767.

Cleaned the arms up a bit, stand out a bit now compared to everything else in the arch now...

Easy enough to get the old one screwed out if you use the correct socket. Had to grind down the teeth, followed advice from this:
