Mr Pink pins question

Fitted a new set of callipers discs and pads a few days ago. Had a set of Mr Pink Pins to fit also.

juat a question about how these pins are designed to stay in place. Is it just the spring clip and R clip that are meant to keep them in place. Or are they meant to be chapped in with a hammer to jam them in place also?
