Cam sensor

Got my check engine light and “check emissions” warning on the dash of my 197. Reading the codes, it’s coming up as cam sensor.

From internet research I think there are 2 on the 197 and one is located under the inlet.

Where is the second one....and what are the part numbers for both of these sensors please?

Ok, cam position sensor changed and codes cleared only to come on again straight away.

This is the code I’m getting:

Any ideas?

When you drove the car home across Wales was it going all right, have you done anything with the car like a steam clean I have a Renault clip which can be more accurate with diagnostics. I'm in Cookstown a bit far away to swap stuff but your screen shot is pointing at the camshaft position actuator (open bank) which to me would be the something not plugged in or the car sensing something missing.

Thanks for the reply. No cleaning or anything... but I had the sensor 1013 on your diagram removed briefly. I’ll take it out again tomorrow and clean it.

Am I right in thinking that’s the VVT actuator?

I might take a run down to Cookstown some time and get a spin in yours if that suited? Just to make sure I’m judging the power correctly. I didn’t mention it in my first post but the power has picked up significantly since I changed the cam sensor.

I think it goes under or above the coil pack bolt lug it gets power from the UPC and they can have problems because they switch control almost the entire car. I'm looking for the Technical note at the moment for cam sensor
