Afternoon all,

So on a trackday few hours no issues at all... then all of a sudden become hard to select 2 and 4 gears... came off driving track normal driving its fine selects 2 and 4 no problem.. any ideas cheers

Syncro's are most likely your problem if you can select the gears fine driving normally. Common problem on these boxes, going with a rebuild with the new strong syncro's solves the problem but its not exactly cheap.

There was a guy here doing rebuilds but I can't remember is forum name or if he is still doing them or not

@Northloopcup used to do box refurbs however not sure if he still does them as I know he’s always busy and you have to drop the box off.

Depending on where you are in the world @R27WTF Matt Scott from Supreme motorsport refurbs boxes and is a Decent bloke.

Cheers,

Where is Norhtloopcup located? New to this group and dont know how to find profile.

I'm first going to change engine mounts as when serviced i was advised this needed doing due to vibration so I'm clinging on to the wishful thinking may be that [emoji1696]....

So drove home from track and and as long as car settled all gears fine but when get upto speed above 30mph all gears difficult have to high rev then on the rev decline goes Into gear but again while stationary low speed all ok...

All advice is greatly appreciated thanks again

Don't want to add confusion of what it could be, reading again now you saying there isn't a crunch and its doing it with all gears above 30mph does not sound like the normal syncro issue myself and lots of others have run into

Always worth doing the following before taking the box out:

1. Bleed the clutch and ensure fresh brake fluid is in the system
2. Change the gearbox oil
3. Ensure the gearbox linkages are secured

Yeah there's definitely something else going on there - not synchros.

Follow the steps DS197 says and see if it improves
