RS 200 cambelt / gearbox recon

Hi Guys,
New to the forum and looking for some advice please.

Last night I went to view a privately advertised 2011 RS200 with Cup pack and Recaro’s with just under 45k on the clock. The car is in amazing condition and drives perfectly apart from one thing.. shift from 3rd to 4th and the dreaded crunch is there every time! The cambelt has never been replaced so that will need sorting and lastly only one keycard is included.

What roughly am I looking at cost wise to sort gearbox, fit cambelt / water pump, and have new keycard supplied and coded?
With regards to gearbox repair is Northloopcup the main man to contact?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Nick

Cambelt at a reputable garage inc water pump will be around £600

I believe Pro line motorsport offer a swap for a fully re conditioned gearbox for £750 ish

And new key cards from Renault are about £200

Welcome!

I think a cambelt job is usually 4-500. Maybe more dependant on where you go! I know Ktec charge £499!

Gearbox recon, there's several places offering a drive in/drive out service now. Typically between £7-850 ish for this, inc of slave/clutch and labour though!

I know Northloopcup rebuilds boxes and is very very good at it but i don't think he fits

As for keycards, i'm not sure how much they are but if you were to go gen Renault i couldn't see it being less than £100-150, but don't quote me on that as i don't know for sure

Thanks for the info people it’s kinda what I was expecting.

If I were to buy the car and get the work done it’s likely to stand me in 8k. Silly money considering its a private sale. Seller not willing to budge on the asking price.

Oh well, I’ll keep on looking.

Thanks again, Nick

My personal opinion is you’re probably best avoiding this one anyway, unless you can get it cheap, belts should have been done by now and its important they are done. It doesn’t sound like it’s had the most care and attention shown to it and unloved ones of these can be BAD. Take your time and find a more cared for one, it’ll pay off in the long run.

With that amount of work it should be in the 4500-5k range

Belts £500
Key £200
Gearbox £800 pro line motorsport = £1500
