Trackspec Clio 197

Well I haven’t looked at the car in a long while but yesterday I made a bit of progress or more work for myself!

It is time to upgrade the intercooler and in doing so meant the rad needed to change too.

The new cooler is twice the size

Since the outlets on the intercooler are different I had to adjust my pipe work and weld it all up. I’ve still got to adjust the upper pipe work so it fits better.

While I was at it I thought I’d create more work for myself and cut the radiator support down like the cup cars. There is a considerable reduction in weight from this and it of course meant getting rid of the rusty bits!

With the new radiator set up I can’t run the previous lightweight alternator set up. Instead I’ve had to change back to the standard type set up.
I was reluctant to spend another £230 with PMS to buy their AC Delete idler pulley so instead made my own.

It all needs cleaning so I’ll shot blast it shortly and give it a quick paint then the pulley can go back on.

Just read all the 55 pages and I must say this was a nice way to spend some time:thumb:! Loved all the updates you’ve done so far. I was trying to take a look on your site but I can’t access it, is this possible?

Thanks for your kind words. Unfortunately the site is no longer live.

Sorry mate the homemade aircon delete?

Yes mate it's more than up to the job. It's no different than running the AC pump except it will have significantly less drag. Pure motorsport do an idler for £230 and this does exactly the same job and didn't cost a penny.
