My first Mk3 Ultra Red R27

Cheers all.

Undecided about fitting my sabelt or not so hopefully can get hold of a boss second hand soon

If anyone has a pic of one in a 197 that would be great, a quick search didn't show much

Also, cleaned mine up, it's mint again but it has only done a couple of thousand miles!

And how's this for a dull update?! It's more for my own records than anything else.

The vvt seal was leaking pretty badly and I had one on the shelf for the 172 that I never used so it made sense to do that. Hopefully that's it sorted

And then took the insulation off and tool kit bar the towing eye out as well. Will remove tar soon but not planning on stripping the car out this year

I know it makes no difference but it looks nicer to me!

Well this may not have been my cleverest idea of all time but it's my car so it's gotta be how I want it. And covered in stickers isn't for me. Even if they're really expensive stickers. On a limited edition model.

A red limited edition model. One that's been painted.

Anyway, pics are required, hopefully with a good machine polish the doors and rear bumper will look better

No amount of polish is going to fix the front though.

Must admit I love my stickers but each to their own obviously. Those grilles look very black, I think you've just inspired me to paint mine....

Done a wee bit to it this week. Even though it handles brilliantly o still had to piss about with it cos that's who I am. So fitted some 200 cup shocks to the back to match the fronts and get rid of the worn out originals. Whilst I'm doing that and got the other top mount still to do it seems daft not to change the springs.

I love the look of them on the H&R 30/40mm but apparently they're crashy as f**k so having always liked Eibachs it was those I went for. Bizarrely they seem bigger than original

The top mount was just as much fun as the other one was

And I also finished taking off the door black sticker things and painted the diffuser.

It's only driven out the garage since so not a true reflection of height and I can offer no feedback on how it drives now!

You won't regret those eibachs. Friend of mine runs the same and it's a really nice ride

Their longer because they're progressive. The hint is that the spacing between each loop is smaller (soft part) in the bottom and bigger in the top (harder). So, despite being longer the softer part will compress more with the car weight alone

Lovely stuff. I love the progress updates and the fact that you are handy with the spanner. Great story.

How are you planning to tackle the front bumper then mate? Full respray?

Cheers mate. Yeah it's useful when you've owned 20 Renault's to know how to spanner

I'll keep an eye out for anyone breaking a red 197 I reckon. Doesn't need to be mint just needs to be better.
