Oil leak around camshaft position sensor.

Had a lot of oil pooling on top of the lower half of the inlet manifold and around he injectors, found its coming from around the camshaft sensor, there doesn’t look to be a seal on it when I took it out, should there be?

Has anyone had this and sorted it? The sensor is working fine I just need something to stop oil leaking past it
 
I had a similar issue, it's worth keeping an eye on as it's easy to check and if left unattended can make a right mess. The seal/sensor seemed to be in fine condition yet wasn't doing it's job.

There should be a rubber ring around the groove on the sensor which acts as a seal. Some of the pictures online show the original Renault sensor without a seal and the parts catalogue (picture attached) shows it as a separate part (11).

It was late in the day so I picked one up from ECP which was a slightly different shape with a different seal and it hasn't missed a beat. 868d031921bc30644d657e281dbe3579.jpg
