LED H7 bulbs in reflector headlights

morning breadbins,

Has anyone fitted LED headlight bulbs in their reflector headlights?

I’ve googled the shit out of it and there’s very conflicting info.

I definitely don’t want to be in a situation where I’m blinding oncoming cars.

Any info appreciated x

apart from them being not road legal, they are probably going to do fine, heard good things about the philips and osram, even thought about getting them for my wife's mito, they should work fine, seen a test with an old volvo headlight, did good...

From past experience, don't do it.
LEDs, much like HIDs, are just grim for scattering light where it shouldn't be.

I've a set of Philips bulbs in mine off euro and they're really good for output

If you're after a set of bulbs that have output a whiter light than usual, you won't go wrong with Osram cool blue intense bulbs. They were the bulbs that produced the most white light whilst still being road legal (4200k I think they were).

Although the trade off is longevity. I think the most any of the bulbs have lasted (main beam and sidelights) is perhaps 2/3 years at a push.

@Sunglasses_Ron do not fit LED bulbs unless sidelights.

They dot have the beam / projection you need.

I have always went with Osram Nightbreakers and feel that they are the best on the market.

On reflector lights you're asking for trouble as i believe it would just blind everyone.
Projector lights on the other hand would be fine, i use them in my meg.
They're designed for main beam and they give a very good projection and amazingly clean light.
BTW these are road legal. Some bulbs do class they are not but most are and mine passed the mot without any query.
