Looking for advice on engine mounts.
Will be fitting a new manifold soon and wanted to do a few mounts.
I already have the upper torque mount on the car and im wondering if its worth doing the upper engine mount (First Picture)

I will be popping a lower dogbone one in (Second Picture) with a new mount, I have replaced the mount in the last 6months but I will just get another one and do it again.

Can anyone else give me any more advise on mounts ?

Cheers

Hi Marc,

I’ll add my experience in hope that it helps:

I’ve just had my manifold changed and after much research I had the following powerflex items fitted at the same time:

Upper Torque Arm (already fitted)
Lower Engine Mount (dogbone one)
Gearbox Mount.

I decided to leave the upper engine oem as this apparently causes quite a lot of vibrations and I use my car daily.

Many people will have different opinions and I’m not actually sure how much the ones I fitted will actually help the manifold longevity - but what I can say is the car feels so much tighter and nicer to drive now and I would’ve added these years ago if I’d have known this.

My power flex dogbone mount causes bad vibration through the cabin. Really annoying as a daily.
If you have a new OEM mount then IMO I'd stick with that.

Ive got the lower engine mount and the upper torque mount so far. It does add a bit of vibration to the steering wheel but i actually quite like the feedback. Pulling away in 1st feels more responsive. I would have fitted the gearbox one but just couldn't get the old one out! From what i've heard the upper engine mount is the one that causes the worst vibration.
