Steering wheel squeak and interior rattles

hi all, currently trying to hunt down any rattling trim inside the car. Have an anoying squeak right behind the steering wheel also the instrument cluster. Plenty more trim also rattles at various revs. Has anyone else had issues and what fixes/bodges did you use ? Thanks

I was only suffering annoying squeaks and rattles behind there whilst steering to full lock at slow speeds!

A recent MOT showed up I had an offside snapped a spring, so I’m hoping my problem was being caused by the feedback from of that!

For all other interior rattles I’ve been tackling some of the trims with anti-rattle tape

Looks a bit tacky but seems to help keep my sanity!

Thanks for the reply, I had been stuffing Blu tack behind the panels but this only seems to work temporarily. I’ll give the tape a try thanks. My steering squeak sounds like it’s just behind the wheel, I’ll whip it off tonight for a closer look.

I found the door where you can turn the airbags off was rattling like mad at high revs so attacked that with anti-rattle tape and as well as the pillars that run down the windscreen (b pillar?)

For reference the link below was the weird sound I had from my steering wheel, although it’s seem to have been cured and caused by my broken spring potentially! But I believed it to be something behind the steering wheel

Yes my passenger door seems to be the worst area, speaker covers aswell. Ordered some of that tape, I’m guessing you removed the trim and taped up the inside?

Sounds like the tail of a cable tie clipping stuff as the steering wheel is turned or the bridging cables between the stalks are not tucked in properly.

That would work better I’d say, however I’ve been a tad lazy and it’s currently on the outside of the trim (don’t judge!)

Either way should ease the pain a little!

The most recent noise I have is the drivers door handle that you shut the door with! Buzzes like made sometimes!
