**VOTE** Photo of the Year 2018

Yeah agreed, I do think the majority of the photos that are entered would be of a high enough quality to be suitable for a calendar.

It would ultimately be down to the owners of the site whether or not a 197.net calendar of any sort was put into production - they have the final say of anything merchandise-related and there needs to be a solid enough business case for it to get the go ahead.

You say that but the 197/200 forum sold a fair amount from what I heard they had a limited run and sold out straight away and some of the pictures were very poor IMO

I’d buy the calendar but naturally the cut off would have to be well before December to allow for printing, I recently got a feature in the RS197/200 2019 forum calendar and that seemed to sell well
That's a really good point, the December car could be the previous years December winner .

I agree with you, Glenn. I personally think the business case for a calendar is very good, much as it would be for any other club merchandise. I think they would sell well - we just need to convince the club owners

How popular has the calendar been on clio sport. Net? I think one person got about 4 months. I got March with (probably) the worst image of what I submitted.

Did many buy it?

I don't know much about the quality requirements, but I understand that unless they are very high standards of photos, the choice might be restricted, hence the same cars being used a few times.

I couldn't tell you how well it sold, but I understand they do quite well. Though I imagine there is a bigger market on CS.net due to the larger number of members. But again, that's not to say that 197.net-branded stuff wouldn't sell very well either...

Yes I think it all came down to quality and size of images. You also don't want one one someone's drive with their mam hanging washing in the background.
The photo of the month competition is getting more and more popular and the quality is exceptional. Don't think there would be a problem getting 12 images of decent quality.

Totally with you on that Harey, the quality is outstanding - you only have to look at the entries above for proof of that.

I will bring it up with the owners when I next talk to them.

Who are the club owners, are they not a big part of the forum ?

I like this forum but it doesn’t seem all that popular to what it was a few years back, seems the likes of rs197/200 have overtook it massively, I think it needs more social media interaction to bring people in

Thank you very much to everyone who took the time to vote for their choice of Photo of the Year 2018. It developed into a very close two-horse race, however the winner by one single vote was June:

Congratulations to @Glenn_Adam_Doble ! Impressive enough having two entries in POTY, but Glenn also takes the top spot! The photo will be featured on the forum Instagram page and your profile avatar will show your honours.

Thank you again to all the entrants throughout all of last year and of course to people who cast a vote.
