New R27 owner

Just thought I would introduce myself to the forum!

My name is Todd and I'm a first time clio owner. I picked up an R27 (number 329/500) in ultra red a few days ago and so far i'm loving it!

I do have a question which hopefully one of you will be able to help me with, I have tried to search the forum for an answer but I can't seem to find it.

So this morning I was driving to work and got stuck sat in stationary traffic and all of a sudden the engine waring light started flashing... as soon as the traffic started to move and get up to speed the engine light stopped flashing. Is this something I need to worry about and get checkout at a garage or is this a fairly common thing with these cars?

Thanks in advance.

First of all welcome to the forum and congrats on the purchase.

Sounds like you've got a good car and in the best colour (I might be biased :grinning:)

I must say I have had this happen on mine possibly 3 times in my 4 years of ownership, did a bit of searching myself and found a few people have had the same issue but it wasn't really anything serious.

The last time mine did it was on a warm day and in traffic, just flashed for a few seconds then disappeared. Personally I didn't do anything and the car has been fine however there are a lot of people more knowledgeable than me on here who might be able to give you an idea of what it might have been to put your mind at ease.

I can't remember what I read about it as it was quite a while ago but sure it wasn't anything to worry about.

i also had that once or twice in my 4 year ownership and was a simple mis fire- but nothing needed changing or repairing just a misfire. only real way to know is to reset all your codes then wait for it to happen again.

Welcome in mate. Great choice of Clio. Any mods done or nice and standard?
The bloke that had it before me had some stuff done a K-tec like a remap and had K-tec put on one of their decats and back boxes so it sounds fairly throaty and pops and bangs a little. It also has Bilstein dampers fitted. In an ideal world I would have bought a standard car but this one was at to good of a price to miss out on.

welcome aboard..hope you enjoy your new toy..

regarding the engine light..common really..some changed their lambda sensor and all was honky dory..

Welcome to the forum, Todd! Great choice in an R27! Good to hear your mind has been put at ease about the engine light - just to add to that, I had that happen once in my ownership, but nothing developed from it.

Get some photos up!
