Missfire?!?!?!?!

Update-

So last night i removed all the coils and all the plugs one by one. All plugs look brand new still...

Coils look alright..... :/ the spring inside of them is quite greasy (not sure if its meant to be)
The first one, ie as your looking at engine, the one nearest oil fill cap, was quite loose. Usually when you remove them they pull out with abit of suction n a lil pop. This one didnt :/ was no resistance to removing it.

Also when i pulled it up, it also brought up the item next to it that the 8mm bolt is also attached to.. (don't know what this is sits inside the head.......)

Getting it scanned tonight for potential fault codes.

Any thoughts?

thanks alot

That is the dephaser pulley solenoid:
https://www.renaultpartsdirect.co.uk/parts/renault-clio-range/dephaser-pulley-solenoid-197-200/

Also that is cylinder 4 (cylinder 1 is on the right side aka gearbox end).

That thread that holds the bolt in can get cross threaded very easily, so be careful / might need a longer bolt, I sure did as someone before me cross threaded the top part, but lower down the threads were intact.

The solenoid is held in on the same bolt, so what I normally do when taking the coil out is, rotate the solenoid so that the coilpack clears the locating tab on the solenoid.

Clean out the coil with some electrical cleaner, see if it makes a difference.

Brill thanks for that info mate!
I'll do that from now on. And get some electrical cleaner see if it works out any bugs.
Cheers!

The second item that came out was the solenoid that changes the timing make sure it's in under the coil pack lug it then cant come out when you pull the coil pack out and needs to be fully seated did you check what the plugs were they should be NGK PFR7Z-TG or use that part number and cross check my car had the wrong plugs in it when I got it they were 172 - 182 plugs most likely because when you look on website the parts can often be wrong so you need the part numbers. aaronsautos.co.uk is close to you in Derby he has done a lot of work on Renault sport cars and built 197 for Clio cup and a 172 track car does a fixed price ball joint replacement a few Renault sport Meganne 172 182 197 reviews look through his news page for previous jobs.

The only thing with you misfire would be if un-burnt fuel is being dumped into the exhaust it will damage the 1st stage CAT in the manifold section

So I had the car scanned by my mate and it came back with these codes-----

The o2 sensor one I think may be when I changed the zorst and it saved the fault because I unplugged it.
I kno nothing about the knock sensor?
Anyone shed any light on it?

I also got some contact cleaner so will give spraying the coils ago Aswell.

Knock sensor is on the front of the block when you open the bonnet.

It sits underneath the coolant pipes that run across the front.

They are known to get crud into the sensor, so people including myself have taken off the plug and cleaned it with electrical cleaner, I would try that first.

Knock sensor (pinking sensor) item 146 could be bad fuel it detects the sign that the combustion is outside it's limits basically the fuel ignites before it is supposed to if the solenoid was not properly fitted the timing might have been out and caused this clear the memory and check later if it comes back.

The second O2 sensor short circuit could be a problem easiest change it the part number depends if it is and oval or more square connector

The first one oval = 197 Clio is 8200036544 should be stamped on the metal body if it's a genuine one
The second more square type = 197 Clio is 8200590431 might have 0258006971 stamped on the metal body.

If it's the 8200036544 then the Bosch part number should be 0258006294 408mm long

I still have the issue. But i have put it down to the fact i have a aftermarket exhaust and i need the car mapping to smooth it out.
