MY 2009 SILVER CLIO 200

Ha yeah your not wrong.why wait about lol. I will be honest, I haven't had a chance to do much more since the cabin/air filter just yet.

I am waiting on a few other important maintenance parts now which will take priority as MOT is due in 4 weeks. That being said anything that I do manage to do (maybe squeeze getting gearbox oil in) will be logged on here so watch this space.

Driving home yesterday and my car has come up with abs / esp fault code on dash. Plugged it into rstuner and has come up with this 1 fault which would explain it ( 2 orange is abs settings that can't be checked as have to purchase module to open section).
Still happy though as no other issues or faults are present now or in memory.

So I am hoping that rear abs sensor wheels just filled with crap/road dirt and an easy fix. Will post up here with my findings.

we used to get a 'coherance' fault on Peugeots on the front and it felt like the abs kicked in at slow speeds when the abs ring was cracked, it saw the crack as a longer gap between teeth and a lock up, hence kicking the abs in for a short period

or

it would also appear when the rear sensor spacing was too far away from the magnetic ring, reseating the sensor worked a treat by removing the corrosion/flakey rust under the sensors plastic body, and sometimes we would add a m6 copper washer between sensor and hub to cam the sensor in, when done right it would just clean the accumulated metal filings from the brakes from the magnetic ring

Ok so today I did the following things.

I did the clutch fluid renew / bleed as I didn't get round to it the day I did the brakes. As expected the fluid was absolutely black as the piccys shows below.

Whilst I was there I cleaned out all the battery tray pieces and airbox also. Then I moved onto the renewing of the gearbox oil. Again to be expected was quite black.

Then lastly I got to work on the door handles as they had discolouration and spottiness to them. Gloss black paint, managed to do driver's door only today.

Forgot to say also I have an exhaust blow which is quite bad and I wanted to fix it properly and fully so I have purchased a k-tec manifold and will be fitting it very soon.

Just masked off the door handles and sprayed in situ. Four coats so nice and thick and I am very happy with how it came out ,now just to do the passenger side

So today during breaks at work I have had my rear discs lathed to make sure of true-ness and give a fresh surface.took of a total of 7 thou each side which is naff all and then once discs were refitted I put on brand new pads and spring clips . Please excuse the caliper paint , it's bloody awful to look at and will address it soon haha.

Had a good cleanup under rear arches also .

Also most importantly I have cured the abs light, the reluctor ring had a piece missing.........fitted a new reluctor ring on driver's rear and lights disappeared

Here's some photos

Today my car has been having a few bits and bobs done.

Firstly I have changed the front lower pivot bearing drivers side as it had play in it quite badly. I checked the other side and that has been done recently as the bolts been replaced with a 13mm headed bolt and there is no play in it whatsoever which is good.

Also I swapped out the blowing exhaust manifold for my new ktec one.

Hey guys, little update.
Took a photo of manifold fitted down the back of engine.

Next up the other day when I changed the front discs and pads I had noticed a front brake dust seal slightly damaged so today I replaced it.

Here's old seal out

The lower seal is the one that's been replaced. Pretty easy to do and took about 10mins

Lastly I got fed up of looking at the upper engine mount and the crap round it from where the scuttle panel drain was blocked and the water and crap over flows down the bulkhead and onto the mount.
