Anyone near London with Leather / Alcantara Recaros? + random pish thread

Never realised you had those seats. What a car you have mate!

And thanks for the offer but it's all sorted know. Decisions made and giving the go ahead soon!

GORGEOUS seats though, my god.
Cheers!
I don’t think mine are the nicest colourway and have seen better in this thread, but they suit the nimbus/carbon theme
Matching back seats and doorcards too - white stitche leather
Just something to think about

As you say, really suits your car. There's lots of bits on yours I'd love on ours.

As for our seats, yes mate, it will be the full job, front and rear, half leather half alcantara (actually mostly alcantara!) door cards, steering wheel, gear lever, contrast stitching, custom logos the lot.

Can't wait!

Hmmmm alcantara, if there was an 8th wonder of the world it’d be alcantara, it’s a cool word, looks great, feels damn expensive (which it is in truth!)

Sounds like you’ve got it all planned out M, be good to see the finished article, when do you reckon you’ll be getting it done?

Slightly off topic, but how the heck is the word alcantara pronounced? I never know if there's emphasis on the 3rd 'a' making it a long 'a' or if there's emphasis on the 2nd 'a' & followed by two short 'a's. I lie awake at night worrying about this,(maybe).

It will look amazing Mes,

Just remember Alcantara was never meant to be used as a seat material. It's bobbles. It won't last as long as Leather.

Just like all the earlier 1*2's etc and it's bloody expensive.

The Lotus dash in black alcantara and a few other little bits came to £1200.

“Alcan” (As if you’re saying a guy called Alan, can do something) and then “Tara”, pronounced the same as Tara Palmer-Tomkinson!

Combine the two words Alcan and Tara, and boom, you have Alcantara!!

Hope this puts your mind at ease bud and you sleep easy now!

All good mate. Currently the only decision left to make is if we go with real or synthetic alcantara as we'll get a little more wear out of the fake stuff. But it's a little smoother. But I quite like it anyway. We'll probably go synthetic.

And yep, it's not going to be a cheap do but it's gonna look good.

The new Lotus interiors in alcatara (also synthetic) look SO good. They've stepped their fit and finish game up so much on the new cars. Guess they needed to though, as the cars are over £100k now

How's the red beauty going?

Many hours of research and mock ups mate. It's been planned to death to be honest, but Mrs M is as particular as me so to be expected. As I just said above, there's only one decision left to make and then it's all go. Month or so off being done I think. :thumb:

Mot'd it on thursday, just needs mapping now. Was way to rich, now to lean. Need to do some driving in it but it wouldn't go over 2k rpm.

I've to say that "cross stitching" looks nice (especially the red seats look great) but in my opinion it's something that belongs into luxury cars and not into a Clio RS. But that's obviously personal preference.

I'm interested to see how ///M's interior will look. From what was written I'd say "posh" will presumably suite as description. :sunglasses:

Btw, I didn't really managed to check that rims thing so far but have somebody at hand who will let my drive his one which is running on 17" Assetto Garas with the same tyres I've on mine. Only problem is that it's not a "Cup" and therefore doesn't has the shorter steering rack. Not sure how much this could influence a direct comparison?

Firstly stop hiding behind your dumb meme. If you've something to say then write it down.

Secondly if you've any problems and don't like what I write you're free to put me on ignore.

Firstly I was just being humorous, maybe your reply says more about you than it does me.

Secondly you do make a good point... *click*

MOT!!! Nice one mate, big day. Get it through ok?

Would love to see more photos Mark, as and when you can. I think the old Lotus are aging so well now. They've all got so much retro cool I think.

As I said originally, it's gonna look ok. I'm confident.

As for the wheels, aren't the AG wheels about 10kg anyway? You wouldn't really feel anything from the weight reduction as it's too slight. You may well feel the benefit in ride quality though. But given that you said yours was already hard as nails then I think most other Clios would probably feel like they have a little more comfort.

Just for you Mes,
Got it through the mot, it's now mapped too. Just a fan decided to pack up this morning!

@Mark_L

Stunning yet again mate. Just so nice seeing such an oldie in such glorious condition!

That yellow Mustang looks very interesting too!

Actually on eBay.

Needs a lot of work. Can't believe it's up to £6k.

My friend has a 67 resprayed in what he calls "arrest me red" and his wife has a Mach 1 with the big engine, it's utterly glorious. The 67 is mint. The Mach 1 is sat on their drive rotting. Really sad.

Would love a nice Mustang!

Interested to see the final result.

More like 11 kg if the following is correct.

Drove a standard 200 at the meeting. Much softer all around than mine. Was also passenger in an other Sport Auto Edition with a KW V3 sporting Ultraleggeras. Felt a bit softer but made a superior impression overall. Guess mainly because of the V3.
