Matt's track/nurburgring RS250 Clio f1

Next thing I'll be trying is wider rubber and see what I can squeeze in the Clio. My Megane had 255 fronts 235 rears so I'm using a same power less weight but far far less rubber

Looking good. Looks like you've had a great ring trip. Keep the updates coming. I used to run 225/45/17 on mine. And that used to buzz the arch liner at Cadwell on the compressions but it was set at a reasonable track height on the front. Arch liners out would probably see a 235 on an 8j wheel without issues.

that looks very sexy..how does it compare to the clio??
Ahh mate for a car with 145k on it's still another world of comfort, build quality etc. It's fast too like properly fast but not as fun or as agile as the Clio. Tbh the GTi really are great cars, I'm sure a set of leather pole positions could find their way in and it would still be practical

Done an evening session at snetterton last night and the Clio was class, she started getting a little hot after a few hard laps but backed off for 1/4 lap and she was perfect. Had issue with track rod end having play in it (changed just before nurburgring) and realised the collar that sits over the thread wasnt there so I obviously hadnt removed it off the old one!!!!

Could really have done with better tyres and pads as the 595rsr get hot very quickly and just aren't up to constant hard laps. The PBS pads aren't bad but didn't give me much confidence when compared to my Megane with ds Uno or CL RC6 as I'm usually very hard and very late on the brakes but with the PBS they just didn't want to stop how I liked but I can't complain for the price.

What’s your thoughts on the OpenTrack events?

Dave is by far my favourite to go with, he's so down to earth and relaxed and tries to help when he can. I've done days with Msv, javlin and circuit days. Open track and circuit days are the ones for me

Thought you might say that. I’ll do one more with Javelin as I have vouchers to use up but that’s me done with them. I can’t complain about the organisation or the team as in my experience they’ve always been good but I’m sick of the driving standards on their events and the share volume of cars. I’ve got no problem with in experienced track drivers because we’ve all been there but that combined with not listening in briefings and stupidity is a bad combination lol. I might try and opentrack next time.
