Chris's LY 200t.

Did they take any paint depth measurements or anything like that or completely dismiss you?
It’s quite an odd looking defect. Has the car ever been painted before do you know? The only way to really tell is paint depth measurements.

I’d phone Renault customer relations as the very least I’d expect them to do is to pay the dealer for the removal and refitting of the door card (still unsure as to why they feel the need to do this). Providing the paint depths are grand that should be covered no problem.

Nah was just the service bloke. I'm going back past there tomorrow so will see what they say..

To be honest I don' give a monkeys what they do it's original paint and it shouldn't be doing that. Whats the deal with paint depths then?

Paint depths will just be taken to ensure that the paint is original and hasn’t had a repair. It’s part of the process for a paint claim we have to submit some depth readings.

I can’t see any issues with it being covered. I was on the service desk for a few years before moving into warranty and it sounds very much like an advisor fobbing someone off, just have someone more senior involved at the dealer.

Good luck mate.

Just a small briefing:

Still on the lookout for a second car/van (preferably van now, probably astravan)
Once me and the old man get that, I'm hoping to get my wheels refurbed in anthracite (not sure of this but I've decided that I'm not going to change the wheels) Ill probably have the callipers off and the cars up on stilts for a week or so as id also like to get them resprayed, I did get this done when I got the car 3 or so years ago, but they are really looking shoddy, infact the fronts you can hardly tell they are red as theres so much shit on them.
Daily commutes on country roads completely put me off trying to put any effort on keeping it clean, as within a few days its filthy again.

Too right mate. Get yourself a daily and you'll never look back. Not because a car needs to be a garage queen (on the contrary) but as I see it you appreciate them more when you drive them just for fun and not for commute etc. I absolutely love my shed because of the flexibility it gives me. What are you looking to get?

Thanks mate.

Me and my dad going to share a van, preferably an Astra van or something small like that.

Yeah it's not to sit in the garage but just to keep some daily abuse off it, keep it looking nice and feeling special, as 20 miles a day through dirt on country roads is certainly not having that effect! Also can do some maintenance on it myself and not have to worry about needing a vechile!

that would be ideal to have a second car to just drive it to work etc..my journey to work takes me 5 mins..it kills me to start it in the winter..t2340.gif

Chris, I can SO sympathise with this. Back in the day I had two white RS Fords and had to drive 10 miles to and from work along proper country back roads. Car was covered in crap all the time. Nothing you can do.

A proper posh ceramic coating and a jet wash every time you come home is the only way really.

And can't recommend getting a daily shitbox enough. Will make you love your gorgeous Clio SO much more.

Hope it works out well mate.

At least you’ve got a great motor that warrants getting a shitbox....some people only have a shitbox lol

I can sympathise with you on this Chris, as I've said. I hate using mine for the commute to work too, and specifically giving workmates a lift, who have no appreciation of the effort it takes to look after a car! I'd love a shitbox daily, but it ain't as straightforward as I'd like unfortunately!

Yeah you've said before pal. I take some guys to college on a friday, and they understand the respect they have to show my car lol. No crumbs and be careful of the door!
