Yiannis' Albi Blue R27 - Toning down...

Thanks guys, it was really great. I very much prefer a roadtrip to any trackday.

However I really need to travel more within the UK, I can't believe I've been living in this country for 12 years and I hadn't been there all this time. A trip to North Wales is next for sure, and then Cornwall. Apparently some great drives there as well:smile:
Don't forget Scotland! One of the reasons I moved here was the roads. Much quieter than the lakes and Cornwall.

Indeed Johnny. I have already had talks with my friend who lives up north and discussed about highlands etc. The trouble here is that it's quite far away from London so I'd have to ditch Alps one year and do a week in Scotland. It will definitely happen though.

Out of curiosity, what headlights/fogs are you running Yiannis ? They look really great and I wouldn't mind upgrading as mine doesn't have xenons.

Wales trip coming VERY soon mate!!! We need some time chugging a few quality ales to work it all out...

I massively recommend a trip up to Scotland Yiannis, and the NC500 if you're prepared to travel that far North. Epic roads and scenery to rival the Lakes (and Alps ).

So, Croft track day last weekend, 480 miles roundtrip plus track day driving, bless its cotton shocks it behaved miraculously great, no issues at all. Well after having spent £900 for a new body control module that is as the previous one got fried. So, new module plus re-programming plus labour all ended up a bit shy of a grand lol. Good thing the warranty paid...

Anyway, the track day event went absolutely great. The track is a bit bumpy so going stiff was not an option. For the ones in the know, there is this high speed chicane where it leads to a big bump and a right hander so you have to brake from 100+mph (5:52 first video) over a bump trying not to unsettle the car..much. Scariest moment of the day was when the rear stepped out at 100mph and me catching it was down to pure luck.

All good in the end, came back Saturday night happy but knackered. Still waiting for pics from Javelin but here is a couple of videos, a morning and an afternoon session:smile:

hahaha thanks Pav, I was experimenting with a second view but since we can't fit the cameras outside the car I thought what the hell? I'm using AD08Rs, can't see me changing these to be honest, I'm pretty happy with how they perform and since the car is a road car semi slicks would be overkill!

Many thanks Ben, after so long I'm glad it actually performed without issues! Driveshafts, bearings, diffs etc blimey the list goes on!

Great Vids Yiannis, nice driving. I like how the Porsche driver was suddenly on his "in lap" as soon as you were getting right up his chuff haha. Goes to show that money doesn't always mean speed.

Yianni, awesome post mate. Watched both videos all the way through. Great driving and the car performed really well. Sounds so good now!

Super pleased you're getting some trouble free running under your belt now.

Was this the first time on track with the Gripper? How was it?

Great videos, Yiannis - I really liked those, as always with your footage! I enjoyed the foot work too - reminded me of the Senna/NSX/Suzuka vid

The car sounds so good, and really glad that it was a trouble free run, after everything that's happened in the past!

Many thanks guys:smile: The car is now mechanically spot on, famous last words..

Always enjoy your videos @Yiannis197 , it was one of your France blasts that got me interested in these cars. Yours sounds so good, what's the exhaust setup?

Really? I'm totally honoured mate if a video of mine persuaded someone to buy the same car! Nice one:smile: I'm sure you haven't regretted it right?

Thanks mate, yes, first TD with the gripper and god what a difference. Very early on the throttle and the line simply does not open at all. On the contrary, it pulls the car to the direction of the steering to the point that the rear can't sometimes follow. In fact, you can see how it works on the first video at 1:45. Exiting the chicane, full throttle, front is getting pulled to the left and the rear simply hasn't got traction to follow. This is oversteer with full throttle on a FWD car lol simply brilliant..
