Help required please??

I am having a issue with my 197.
It turns over all ok, but just will not fire up. I have attached a snap on code reader and there was a crank position sensor fault. I have replaced the sensor, cleared the fault.
Yet it still is exactly the same. But no recorded or active fault anymore.
I have checked all fuses. OK
Disconnect items and reconnected. OK
I have searched the internet for this issue and checked everything that has been suggested.
Does anyone have Clip, know how to use it and willing to look at my car to see if a fault can be found?
Thanks in advance.

Does it have a spark ?

No spark at all. Hence why i changed the crank sensor (plus it had a code for a crank sensor fault)
Immoboliser light is off when cranking.

I can't.
So i have no spark or fuel pump noise.
I have a feeling its something simple, just cant find what though and no faults on the code reader.

check for voltage to the pump - under rear seat - inspection flap

theres also a brown multi plug on the circuit board from the fuse box under the secondary air intake that supplies the fuel pump

sounds daft but have you actually checked the fuses correctly - not just a "quick" look?

is there a voltage to the tdc sensor?

How are you checking for no spark. Also as fox said, check voltage to sensor

If i had a wiring diagram i could follow the wiring no problem. I don't so i am effectively working blind.
Should you have any voltage to the crank sensor? If so which pin. 1 or 2?
What pin at the pump and when should i get the voltage?
I will have another look at tge brown multi plug.
All fuses checked with a voltmeter via a continuity check. Any that i couldn't get to or be 100% i removed and checked.

Assuming the sensor is fine you need both probes in the sensor wiring Set meter to ac millivolts and get someone to crank engine. From memory you need a reading around 190 mv

You mean check to see if the crank sensor is working and not the wiring to the sensor?
I can check for a MV.

Check the sensor first just to rule it out. Infinite resistance or zero means duff sensor. You can also check it with cranking method.
Then check voltage to sensor, I don't no which pin but one of them should be 12v in

I have always thought that 2 wire sensors are magnetic therefore create there own voltage and you do not have a voltage to them? Where 3 wire sensors are hall effect that do require a voltage?
I maybe incorrect though?

Plenty of fuel .
Its my 1st Renault, so don't fully understand how all the systems are linked together. It was running perfect prior to this issue.

yes - 2 wire makes a voltage

3 wires have power supply but will be more like 5v not 12v

you dont really need a wiring diagram to test for continuity or voltages - just basic knowledge of testing
