Wheel wax/sealant

im after some kind of advice on how to protect my wheels a little due to an aggressive brake pad. My wheels are no show wheels, however cleaning them after a day at the track the brakedust on my wheels is pretty hard to remove.

So any methods I may be advised on and also any wax or sealant etc
 
If it were me - i'd remove wheels.

I'd clean with Purple Rain / Iron-X etc to get rid of metallic particles.

Wash again with a milder car shampoo etc until spotlessly clean.

Seal the wheels with a decent sealant, and could even go over that with FKP1000 which is heatproof......

Yeah I remove the wheels, used iron x firstly like you said then used an autoglym "wheel cleaner" then tried fairy liquid after that. It's almost like it needs a good clay or something

It was more the what wheel wax or whatever's would be best to use for the car :smile:
 
i have used what Sean is now and it had good properties but doesnt last very long..even with 3 coats..the wheels do always get dirty and the dust stick to them like crazy after a while..
started using the GTechniq C5 Wheel Armour Sealant and things got better..where I live rains quite a lot and all the dirt on the road doesnt help either,so keeping my wheels clean around here is impossible :poke:
 
I'll have to give that a try @Pav although I'm trying to curb my spending, not that you lot are helping by continuously posting goodies lol

Gtechniq C5 or Carpro Dlux. I'd go for the Dlux as its just easier to apply, beads for years and means that you can just pressure wash the wheels and they are clean!
 
I found the best being Gyeon Rim (hilarious name) had this on my daily for nearly two years now and it makes caring for them super easy would recommend.
 
For me as above good clean with Iron X etc, clay then CarLack Complete then Swissvax Autobahn (contains PTFE). More expensive than what the others have suggested but tried and tested throughout the years.
 
Carpro Dragon's Breath is great for this. Follow with Bilberry to lift any of the decon residue and the seal with Prima Wheel Armour.
 
AutoFinesse mint rims as a final

After a full detox in:
AF citrus power
AF iron out
AF imperial
AF revolution
AF oblitarate (if necessary)
 
Carpro DLUX is similar to Gtechniq. Just don't forget to give proper prep and curing time so that it last for several months.
