Sean's 197T - RIP Albi :(

Excited to see the progress after RST, Sean. You deserve some great results after all the help and advice you provide on these conversions :smile:

Just need to decide whether to fit my 250 turbo or keep with standard and sell the 250. If I stick with standard i'll be happy with around 270-280bhp and 290lb/ft, with the 250 i'll keep the torque the same to minimise the risk of the bottom end lunching itself but aim for 290ish bhp. Decisions decisions....

I also forgot I had a Clio keyring too....

Why is the torque different with the 250 turbo?
 
Gave the car a full going over with the DA this afternoon. I washed and clayed the whole car and then used the Menzerna hard compound followed by Auto Finesse Glisten. Meguiars tyre gel was used on the tyres and Auto Finesse Revive on the trim.

Great reflections Sean for what i'm guessing was poor light as such !

Looking at whats on the floor, your neighbours must have thought you were nuts :smile:

Haha I only did the bonnet and boot lid/rear bumper last week to try out the DA. I went more aggressive with the compound this time and it did make a difference. I'm gonna wait until the day before I leave for Spa before I do the whole car again. Between now and then it'll be maintenance. Hopefully by that time the new wheels will be on, the calipers painted, and the mud flaps fitted.
The roads here are fine, it's just residual snow from Thursday night.
 
Cheers guys. I'm a complete newbie to this whole detailing thing but I must say it's very rewarding. Probably not the best of weather to begin but I suppose this weather is as good as any to be getting a good protective coating on. There are still some stone chips which needs attention but a touch up pen will have to do for now, at least the unchipped bits are gleaming lol

looks great Sean..very impressive given you have never done it before..
think you should keep the 250 turbo..future proof and its newer for sure..so lees chance for a break down etc...

Just dropped off the clio for the MOT. Guy 'thinks' the number plates may be illegal, even though they're standard lettering and spacing. Oh, and he passed them last year! Will find out tomorrow!
 
What an odd comment to make about the plates if they're the legal standard!

Best of luck though Sean, hope she sails through!
