Hello, sold my A45 AMG for a Clio 200t EDC LUX

Welcome, to the club, I totally understand your views and comments, I actually find I have more fun in my Clio as I have had over the last few years as you just can't use the power these hyper hatches have. They have so much grip nowadays that the fun has just gone out of the driving. I find there is more fun to be had in the smaller cars with a bit less grip. You just can't get that in the hyper hatch unless you are doing 120mph, which one, if it goes wrong, there is no way back, two, the fun just does not last as long at those speeds, three it's dangerous and highly illegal. Every time you pass another vehicle you are hitting 3 figures. Clio is a nice modern fun hatch, with grown up toys and stuff all the hyper hatches have in them. Enjoy.

That's what im hoping for, smiles per miles! I'm actually quite excited about picking the mini beast up, first up will be the same as all my cars a full deep clean, clay bar, stage 2 machine polish, and protection with Exo V2 Gtechniq, G5 Gtechniq on the wheels to and then Gtechniq fabric sealant. Will then get some pilot supersports on it and that will be it really, just hope I don't miss the 420 lbft of torque lol

If you read the reason why it's because it's about half the price but not half the fun!

I read the reason why and I agree definitely mortgage more important than car. Just think there are much better choices than the clio. Half the price and less than half the fun. Surely megane rs much better option

Megane was only two door which would grate me getting kids occasionally in and out over the seats with muddy shoes, wanted something newish, £200 a month, 4 doors and fun, it fit all the bills, yes I could have got a higher mile S3, RS, R32, GTI etc etc but it would be much much older and out of warranty, this was under £200 a month with a very low deposit which is a bargain and it's only done 2400 miles.
This seemed the perfect compromise between, cheap, fun, practical, newish.

After owning a 250 i much prefer the clio cracking little car thats a great all rounder ans welcome to the club

Quick question how do I know if my car is the CUP? I've been told red callipers and black wheels? Mine has both. The sales guy said it only shows up on their system if it's a NON cup and doesn't say that it actually is a CUP

The cars had an option of the cup pack, which it looks as if your car has. The cup pack has the 18" wheels lowered/stiffer suspension, and red calipers. If you ask the dealer he can print off the full spec sheet from the factory, service department will do it for you.

Nice clio. I rang up about this one on Sunday 28th Feb and they didn't ring me back :-( not to worry though, I've found another and I'm picking it up on Saturday. Hope it's a good one!

I was also under the impression that black wheels meant it was a cup pack on the EDC.

Yeah like womble said, 18's in black, red calipers and Dunlop sport maxx tyres (not Goodyear Eagle). These are the most easily identifiable visual differences.
