How to de-activate hazard lights on hard braking.

Hi,

Been having a play with the Clio since having the new suspension fitted. I notice that on some pretty heavy braking zones I am greeted with the car activating its hazard lights. How can I turn this function off?

I'm fairly certain it shouldn't be doing this? It's a Fast Road, Track car... No way should it be detecting an accident under heavy breaking.

There may be a far worse issue at play here.

I've been to the floor with my brake and the car just remains itself.

Some cars do have this feature, my old fiesta used to do it on very hard breaking, never had/heard this with the clio though...

A brief look online suggests it could be a dodgy abs sensor. Otherwise, it can be turned off using CLIP.

It doesn't happen on mine either, however I think it's there as a safety feature for the benefit of following traffic - eg on motorways where high speeds are being travelled at and heavy braking isn't expected.

Don't think it's necessarily anything to do with detecting an accident.

I didn't think the mk3 Clio 200 has this feature. I'll take note next time on track as I haven't seen it in my car or following other 200s.

I am pretty sure there is a video on YouTube of megane rs vs a clio rs and every time the clio heavy brakes into a corner the hazard lights flash, I know it's a warning function on the ford's as standard with newer models. If you type in megane rs vs clio rs nurburgring I am sure the video will come up.

It just means you can used the full friction coefficient of the tyres without triggering the ABS. The most frequent place it happened for me was at the end of Kemmel straight at Spa where we braked hard in a straight line.

In summary, nothing to worry about and I think you can turn it of in Clip.

safety feature indeed, just to warn drivers behind You about emergency braking, should be related to Emergency Brake Assist system, can be switched off with ESP button along with ESP of course
