LY200 - too loud or blow up again, taking bets!

Not my car and not me driving. But just so happened that today I met a tramp with an identical spec car!! He was so kind as to give me an SD card with this video on it. He told me he placed the mic in the boot and was disappointed with the subsequent lack of any induction noise...... but this should serve as good reference for what my car/exhaust "might" sound like...... :bat:

If I ever see him again I'll suggest the next video he makes he places the mic in the car!!
 
Yep does have a pug sport sound to it in that video, must be the mic in the boot. It was secured on the back plastic trim at the bottom rear - so literally about as close to the exhaust as you can get within the car so def not representiative of what you hear as a driver. - Have to hope we 'get' another vid with the mic in a better place.

And lol @ posh tramps!! Is that a hobo perhaps? :lol:

Likewise mate, be good to see yours running what 300+ will it be next?! Hopefully try and get to some more of the Meon meets etc next year, don't feel like I've done much at all car related this year.
 
Hmmm, I see a cold (warm?! ;p) air intake, forged internals and a standalone engine management system. Not a bad way to spend £10,000....for a tramp.

I'm actually more impressed that you got round to doing something with those recaro's. Even if it is selling them!

Wow that Clio looks quick - any idea what sort of power it's running?

Ha, well if you want anywhere to sit this Christmas I might be best putting them on frames/wheels to have around the house though! - Tbh it's the space in the play room I want back more than anything, I think the seats have been pissing the kids off taking up so much room!! - Having the shed moved in a couple of weeks so need to clear out that too, got 4 part worn 595 RS-R's I need to shift, OEM exh manifold, exh system etc!!! Like a ****ing breakers at times this house :@

Never that easy to say with RR's but about 215bhp give or take. I def wan't to get back to Surrey Rolling Road at some point as that's where I took my first ever figure with just a Supersprint (193bhp). They have an open RR day on Sat 19th I might try to get to, before hand though I need to just finish off some of the mapping with Ray West.
 
Probably not the best time to sell the seats as everyone is busy spending on christmas crap. Still, another couple of months of storage won't hurt i guess!. I can stick them up on a couple of other forums if you want me to try. Are those base plates you have universal?

New seats look awesome btw and definitely the sensible choice.....for a change!
 
Cheers, it's overcast as hell today but I'll try make some decent pics. Yeah feel free to pimp them around as its seats, sidemounts and runners which are the universal Recaro items.

The only thing specific to the Clio is the Sparco base frame, but I'll list that separatley.

Our friendly tramp suspects holding a phone to record things would just be a flagrant step too far!!! Although if a hard surface like the side window could be used to mount the action cam with a view of the dials, then it might be possible.........and of course legal on a private road or track! I think I might be able to undertake this one, however I'm out of Go-Pro feet now so need to order some more :lol:
