Fiesta st are very popular.....

So I was out in my clio 200t today just a short journey into town and this is no word of a lie town is only 10mins from my house and I passed 8 fiesta st3's I thought wow that's incredible! it just goes to show how popular these cars are.
I'm very tempted to go test drive one to see what all the fuss is about.

Oh and I'm still waiting to see another clio 200t on the road.....

they are great cars i guess but just the fact there are so many of them on the road would put me off..
its still worth being a bit unique

I totally agree. Very nice cars by the sound of it but very common too. Even compared to the 197 and 200, the STs don't look that special. I've yet to actually see a 200T in person!

Greaqt cars, no doubt. Great fun to drive. Good engine, solid handling. Not quite in the same league as the Clio in every department for me. I think the Clio looks better, I love the big revvy NA engine and as for handling, we all know how good the Clio is. This is from someone from an RS Ford background too. I definitely prefer the Clio. There's no way the FST puts as big a smile on your face.

Had a wee shot in a fiesta st I like them, but overall prefer the clio. Had a couple of shots of focus rs mk2 they are really mint. Tho my m8 in work brother has a rs and he had driven the clio and thinks it more fun although the rs is a good bit quicker. I work for Ford and can't wait to get a shot of the rs mk3.

That mk3 rs is going to be a bit of an animal, 4wd...

I find it difficult to tell the ST3 and normal fiesta apart from a distance, they have such subtle styling for a sports car.

I would be surprised if you can tell the ST3 apart from a ST2 or ST1 :tongue_smilie:

I own a 197 and a ST2, they are both brilliant cars and do things slightly differently. I find with the Clio you always know what is happening where as the Fiesta is a bit more refined, it is quite easy for your speed to creep up on the motorway. The Fiesta really gives the driver confidence too, it almost eggs you on to go faster! The damping is much better in the Clio though, the ST is very crashy over bumps. The Fiesta interior is a step up over the Clio though, the sound system is pretty good.

Overall they are both great hot hatches, the Clio is a bit 'purer' where as the Fiesta is much nicer to use every day.

fiesta st great motor and very good engine but for me it was missing something...not as exciting as my 197

I bought the misses a fiesta and I think both in standard form that the ST is the more daily friendly car, it certainly allows for a more chilled drive in my opinion. I love my Clio....but if my car wasn't such an extreme then I would have probably sold it and bought a st for myself a while back.

Hehehe, having had a 172/182 & 197, I can safely say the best by far out of those three is the 182.

HOWEVER, I test drove the 200T, I'm sorry, I hated it, not the drive, but that bloody awful gearbox - it most certainly doth butter no parsnips!

So yesterday, I picked up my brand new ST3 (Fiesta), no regrets. I don't care how many there are on the road. It hurts me to say I don't like the new RS, but if you are gonna build such a nice car then put that thing in it and call it a gearbox, then there won't be any on the road  All down to personal taste of course. And don't forget - I love the clio!

Doth butter no parsnips indeed!!
