LSD options

Are there any plated alternatives to the quaife atb for the Clio 197/200 because I can only find quaife available ?? Oh and ktec list one but unsure of the make

Drexler do one, given they are standard fit on the various more hardcore VXR's, my assumption is that it must 'wear' OK (ish!) ?

Quaife are good for the road, but I wouldn't use on track if there are other options... As soon as you hit a kerb and lift a wheel something plated is required so you still have drive!

I've got the plated Gripper fitted & cannot fault it one bit, I had to change a gearbox synchro after the diff had been in for 15k miles and barely any sign of wear in it, that's with a few track days included

I cant see any real big difference between the gripper and quaife in handling and performance (maybe on track but even there not something that make you feel like wow its big improvement)

I have quaife atb ,its a solid lsd that doesnt require any special care, fit and forget

Yes but a quaife needs some resistance on both wheels otherwise it will act like a regular open diff, as soon as a wheel leaves the ground there is as good as no resistance so it's effectively an open diff spinning all the power away through that wheel.

A plate diff will slip a certain amount depending on the ramp angles and the preload set then it will start to lock, the more a wheel slips the tighter it locks until their isn't enough torque to make it slip.

Yeah that's why ideally I want a plated diff but was having trouble finding anybody who did one

for a daily/sometimes hardcore driving car gripper and this type of diffs looks overkill to me ,up to you what you want from the car for most people i would say quaife is the choice
as for handling/perfs see it as Gripper>quaife>open(genuine)

Okay cool my 200 is a race car so I'm gonna go for the gripper  cheers! 43518b2435f06c8281480aabd4cb5c51.jpg

Gripper for you without a shadow of doubt. I believe Sean from Jade developments can supply these bad boys for something less than a grand. Quaife is a good diff but technically it's not an lsd, it's an atb diff and as soon as one wheel is on the air the game is lost.
