I've currently got standard rear discs, pads and bearings on the car but the discs are due to be replaced shortly. Has anyone got recommendations on what to go for. The car is light so the rear doesn't do a huge amount of braking, ideally I just want a standard disc and pad with a good quality bearing, for less than £180 that Ktec want for an OEM set up.

Echo on Foxy, rear is not doing much so stock is best. If you up rate the front the rear is doing even less work, due to weight transfer. Grooves are the only option to brake the glaze on the pad as the pad doesn't get to work hard enough on the road. If you don't want rusty disc bells a coat of black engine paint makes them stay like new
Any idea how thick a rear disc should be? Seem to have about 6-8mm on mine but MOT checkover recomended replacing them.
Car is 7 years old, with 50k on the clock and probably never been replaced, but like you say they dont do alot and im replacing all the fronts and am wondering if they are really necessary

@FISHBOY brand new is 11mm mate so if yours is 6mm are due I believe..
Re upgrading the rears I found that when I upgraded the fronts with a strong pad the braking was a bit unbalanced. I ended up with too much stopping power at the front and nothing at the back which was a bit unsettling. This time I'm upgrading the rears as well using the same compound as the front ones so I'll report back.
But the rears do work. Endless cases of the rear wheels being red hot after a blast in the Alps, another example was when I was following a fellow member in Wales when his mintex at the back were literaly smoking.

Getting near the limit in 4th and throwing it into 5th is GOING SOME, then throwing it round a corner with nothing but a metal barrier and a cliff and hearing the tyres squealing :scared:
I was thinking about this when I ordered mine so I ended up going to mtec discs all round with standard pads.
