Did I get caught?

Was driving down the M6 saw a mobile camera van on a bridge. Was doing a fair bit of speed. But once I saw it, I slammed my breaks. Am I likely to get caught???

IMO 2 things, if laser, a) he or she was not focused on your lights or paying attention, havin a break etc. They use the reflectiveness of headlights to lock on (twice)
b) you have no chance in reacting. too late...
I use a valentine one, saved me many, many times. as they pick up laser scatter and tend to warn in advance.
You will probably have to wait up to 14 days to receive your nip in the post.

Good luck Yankitm

Ive been lucky twice gone past mobiles speeding, I guess they were not on or not looking at me.

How much over were you doing? If its a lot it will probably be points, if not too much over you might get the course.

Not quite sure maybe 90.
Just wonder if they only lock onto one car or multiple cars?

Because I was down the straight with a fiesta st an another vectra doing same sort of speed and I was in the right lane as well.

How does a laser gun work?

Laser handheld speed camera guns use a narrow beam of light about 10cm wide. This laser beam bounces from the target vehicle and provides the police officer with a speed reading. The speed is displayed within 0.5 seconds of use meaning speed camera detectors do not have long to warn you that laser is in use. The range of laser guns is about 1 mile.

Judging by that, its 1 car at a time, but its also a quick feedback so they could technically do all 3, thats off speecamera site. Luck of the draw mate, you've just got a horrible couple of weeks wait :worried:

Never be the fasted guy in that stretch of the motorway. The operator will usually target the fastest car in the pack of cars.

Points mean prizes right? :tongueout:

I got points....more than 3 but also bought the megane.

Result? Insurance went down.

Speed limits are BS IMO and well overdue reform using a more intelligent approach. Even 90 on a motorway is cruising speed for a lot of modern cars.

Its driver training that needs to improve not limits that need to go down

Were you leading in the pack of cars you was in?

Like someone said they usually target the faster car so if you was out front more than likely targeted yourself

Something similar happened to me a few weeks back, saw the van and slammed the anchors on and hoped for the best, got a letter through last week saying they clocked me doing 91 :worried: 3 points & £100 fine.
