Please.... someone talk me out of it!

If you do trackdays stay well clear unless you want a dash full of colourful lights.

I had a ride in my Brothers TT 1.8T 225Bhp Quattro at the week end,

Verdict?
Not as fast as the Clio.
A low redline made it seem like a diesel, all boost and gear changes, in a different league to the Clio regarding handling/ fun.
Comfy and more refined, and good mid range shove but I'd give that up for the Clio.

My brothers shopping for remaps now

I've also regularly been in a 280bhp 2013 MY S3 and tbh I wasn't blown away. I wont deny it's a capable car but it seemed a little sterile and didn't feel that quick.
Go for a test drive

Boosting the clio isn't a viable option as it's on finance sadly. Also don't have 5k to drop as I would be financing the S3.

Just feel that the S3 is a more comfortable car to commute in with power when I want it :worried:

I'm so confused lol

Your spot on pal more comfort more power and more tunable but not as quirkey and a little boring to live with bud go test drive one i found the whole Vag thing not for me but awsome motors

I would say tho its got to be worth trying the Meg and the Clio as well

If you get an Audi I will never ever ever speak to you again. I will delete you from Facebook, I will erase any conversations from memory and i will start vicious rumors about your sexuality.

(not sure on how the above will sway you lol)

It looks like we have the same feelings towards Audis

A good friend of mine has an S3, same age as that one on PH, slightly higher mileage. His has been chipped/fettled to ~350bhp iirc. It's a lovely car, very nice seats/interior etc, nice place to sit. Quite subtle from the outside IMO. He took me for a drive and it is quick, it gets the power down very well with it having quattro, however it didn't feel as ballistic as I thought it might, given the power output.

Very different car to the Clio though, it's a cliche, but probably not as 'fun'?? It all depends what you really want from your car: if it's pure power, then test drive the S3 and see what you think, especially in comparison to the 200.

we had one at work not so long back and it ended up going to a guy in the welsh mountains who had 9 fingers, 1 glass eye, webbed feet and was born on the 43rd of Julember

need i say more?

Also for 260bhp it didnt seem that fast. rather boring imo
