200T Loves Petrol!

Thought I'd seen a fuel thread somewhere but couldn't find it..

I haven't had much experience with the 197/200 Clios, what's the average miles to a tank of fuel like?
At the minute the 200T is loving fuel, I got around 200 mile to the first full tank of around £55/60 BP 95 petrol.

It's slowly climbing now though, can average around 250 miles per tank at the minute.

Big change from nearly 800 mile to a tank in my DCi haha.

Not that I'm complaining, I didn't buy it for its good fuel consumption

I find it weird that 55 quid fills mine with vpower

Yea tank doesn't seem to be that big does it, I'm usually sticking in around £50 at a time but sometimes it won't even take it as I don't let it get that low. The best I have near me is BP 95, from what I can see they only do premium diesel at that station

The 197/200 has a 55 litre tank from what I can work out. Most I've got into it has been 53 litres and I did about 25 miles with the fuel light on. I get around 400 miles from a full tank.

£60 Vpower is giving me around 230 - 250 miles in my 197, smiles per gallon is definitely over 9000 though.

I'm amazed how small the 200T tank is :O That's what, a 40-45 litre tank?

The 200t tank is 9 gallon-ish or 45 Litres with its improved fuel use you should be getting the same in total mileage if not more that you'd get from the larger tanks found in the 1*2/197/200 unless you drive like a bell end (only acceptable for the first month of ownership whilst you get to know the car)

I get around 320 to a tank on my 197, but that's with some careful slow driving aswel, that's with a tank costing me about £70

I just got the light on today and filled up again and see I got 284 miles this time, so plus whatever's left after the light that wasn't bad! Definitely seems to be getting better with more miles. Foot was definitely a bit lighter this past week in the wet

Yea, you're right, putting your foot down and using the 200bhp that the car has to reach the speed limit and using more fuel than normal is totally 'driving like a bell end'. Considering the other miles to a tank that others are replying with for around the same money, you must drive everywhere in 5th gear?

5th gear isn't always the best gear, but when your twice weekly commute cost £120 a week in petrol you tend to stop being a tit in a nippy car and just use the power for when you need it not just because you have it.

Mm, you're fond of criticising how others enjoy driving their cars. Considering I've had it since the start of September and only have around 1500 miles on it, I don't get to drive it that often and thus like to enjoy it when I do. If that qualifies as 'driving like a tit in a nippy car' then so be it

Couldn't personally care less how you enjoy driving your car so long as you enjoy driving it safely but if you like putting your foot down hard/having fun why would you be surprised it's not getting the mileage you expect.

Nice to see another 200t coming on to the roads

I've just clicked over 2000 miles since 1st September

Everytime I drive the car it feels like it's getting quicker

Live the car so far

Mine doesn't seem too bad on petrol so far, but the few times I have floored it I can seem the fuel gauge dropping. Mines got 6000 on the clock and bloody flys through the gears

smaller tank is an inconvenience, mk3 managed 4 trips to work and back (36m each way) with fuel to spare, computer saying 32mpg, 200t has me running on fresh air on last journey home with computer average saying 34mpg BUT I reckon I'm going faster in 200t, the stealth approach and then point and squirt means I'm overtaking more cars and having more fun !

I hate this approach they're all taking to fit smaller tanks.

For the sake of an extra 10L you'd get much more out of a full tank but because the tanks smaller it seems like your at the petrol station just as frequent as you were with 200.

For example our Abarth 500 has a small tank and we get 320-340 miles out a tank but with an extra 10L at the 40 odd mpg it'd seem like it runs forever on a full tank.

Its all in the head but no one wants to be at the petrol pump every few days.

I find my 200 fine on fuel.

415 miles I managed out of it before I got scared and stopped to fill it up.

Im always on an average of 35mpg. On my commute. Then come the fun, I can clear the tank quickly

I'm glad, I'm loving it too!

The stealth approach is great! Not so stealth in the liquid yellow though, it kind of stands out lol.
It seems to be relatively good when you drive it with manners, more than I actually expected, but you can see the fuel needle drop when you properly put the foot down lol. I used 20 miles of fuel in sport mode on a 4mile journey on the back road from my house to the town!
