1st ever service at dealership an unhappy one

Morning

Took my Clio in for a service and mot y'day ( 2nd service ) and dropped the car off asking renault to check out a rattling noise and asking them not to wash the car and to LEAVE my k&n there and put a standard one on my seat in box.20 mins after I leave the receptionist rings an says they only have 1 spark plug.can I leave the car overnight which I couldn't as I had to book a day off work.in the end I managed to persuade her to just go over the road to Ces for some.

I pick the car up after 5 hours and after being told yeh it'll be 15 mins an hour an ten mins later I'm driving off with my washed car and got home to notice somebody had removed my k&n filter an replaced with standard one and what looks like a 5 year old had stamped my book.! Ill have to ring them today to tell them about the filter but pardon me for maybe being arsey but this was my first time at a dealership and I don't think it was up to scratch at all.everything was hassle for them.

Also took out the extended warranty.

Sorry to hear that mate. They definitly shouldnt have taken your k&n out thats naughty!! And requests such as not wanting it washed I feel should be written down on the job card for all to see!! I would be complaining to the manager about all of it personally.

I put the K&n sticker notice on my air box. Not to disregard.

They left mine in, didn't think of asking for the standard one to be given in a box though lol

I'll remember that next time

sorry but lolol- at the service book-

they should give you one FOC & restamped on that.

Get your filter refitted- if they still have it-

One quickie- if they are going to replace the book- that stamp will be in the new handbook-
get them to give you the yellow service book-
its so much better having a service book & handbook-

Another short cut by renault.

what a bunch of plonkers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i always put it in writing and leave it in the car of exactly what i want doing (when i even had a company car)

did it not raise any alarm bells when they took out a k&n filter!!!!!

and why are the plugs being changed? 36k intervals!

the service book stamp - were they suffering alcohol withdrawl symptons

I had my car serviced at Renault when I first got it, they never even changed the oil or filter! Never stripped and cleaned my rear brakes like I asked to stop them sticking. Shocking, reputable local garage is the way to go.

That awful, go back to them to sort it out & get your k&n filter back!

Better put a notes on the window say: please don't wash the car.

Where I took mine to renault, I tell them what I want & don't want for service. They never wash my car cos I told them not to!

If I get an aftermarket filter in future, I would keep the old one and put it back in when it goes for a service. Simple.

It's definitely worth chatting with RUK. Such a refreshing change from talking to a dealer - they really were helpful and sorted everything out for me.

I have one of these, its not subtle but it works:

My 200 will be due its first service soon, will have to make sure I tell them a few things first!

excellent :jase:

put it in writing and hand to service desk and put a copy in the car - they then cannot not know

..I haven't taken my car to a dealer since I caught a spotty 14 year old YTS kid reversing my Clio Trophy up the car park (SJ Cook in Bristol) at 50mph reving the engine on half clutch as I walked out of the show room shortly after dropping it off.....I pretty much dragged the t*** out of my car and not so politely asked him why he though my beloved Trophy was the same as his clapped out Corsa.....drove it off the forcourt and back home before they had chance to start the service......now always take my car to Carlton Garage in Exmouth (and have done for 6 years now) who are a Renault specialist

I took my rs133 to SMC waybridge where Karl (twingogeeko) works to have its service Spot on service couldn't fault them

Damm! SJ Cooks is my local! Bristol is a bit short on Renault specialists!!!
