It took a 15 mile motorway trip but Ive seen 30mpg on the dash display this afternoon.

Just thought I would share the moment

That is good news

however, i try to get that daily down the A roads.

on a motorway you should really be able to push 35+

I have a 56 plate 197 and I did a motorway drive of about 140 miles doing 70 mph max and only got 26 mpg :worried:!?!? what the hell :worried:

Mines currently 22! Max I've ever seen (sustained) is 33 mpg. However if you buy a 197/200 for economy, you got the wrong car!!

very true although im using it the same as the 1.6 focus i had and its only costing about a extra £40-£50 a month its not really bothering me

To get over 30 on a long motorway run what sort of speed is that? 60mph?

I know there's no hard and fast rule as someone cruising for an hour without braking on flat ground will do better than someone going up hills and having tio brake more often.

I try and get good petrol but get bored after two minutes , to be fair if I wanted economy I'd have got an ordinary diesel.

Best I've seen was 42mpg taking it steady on the way to lincoln but after a traffic jam and some foot down action it soon dropped to 32mpg so well done sir, my average is 27/28mpg running on 99 ron fuel

Cheers boys, Ive not had the car a week yet so getting used to it. In the few days Ive had it its locked me out ..flat keycard battery and then the car battery went flat on me. I also think I have a front wheel bearing worn (whooping sound on flat smooth road surface)

Its certainly not like running a korean predictable car (just got rid of a Kia!)

I

The MPG is NOT accurate, do an actual calculation and it will be 3-7 mpg out (low).

It really does depend on the time you drive, traffic and if you race it especially red light to red light.

Got mine up to about 27.1 and its taken a bit of a nose dive since this cold weather down sarf has creeped in.

Not sure why.

Last weekend I went out in the Clio and had a thrash about with my mate in his polo GTI got got home and it was on 18mpg!!

But I don't care, so much fun.
