Kerry's 197

FCS is near and like most i am trying to get a few bits done on the car!

So today my boyfriends dad made me some custom tips at work! Just a small jobs really as he used ebay cheapy ones as a template, havent got them on the car just yet but will do tomorrow... Also in the middle of spraying my wheels! I'll get some pics up as soon as they are on the car

so i havent updated in a while and i think an update is needed! Got around to fitting the exhaust tips the 'father-in-law' made to fit, here they are:

Yesterday new brembo front disks and pads fitted, today mot passed with no advisories and some more tax on it too :thumbup1:

Cambelt done 3 weeks ago from Fred at btm! Great job! Cannot fault the guy in any way possible!

Think thats everything but the cars cost me a small fortune the past few weeks!

I'm not a huge fan of the white wheels because they are filthy the same day i wash them, what colour should i go for? was thinking nissan grey but grey very common nowadays, any others i could try?

great looking car kerry and some nice mods, go for honda civic cosmic grey for the wheels i have got a tub of the stuff

If your fed up of cleaning your wheels then Anthracite or Black is really the only way to go, otherwise you'll just have the same problem no matter what you go for. Personally I think the standard cup pack anthracite is a great colour. I've done a good few hundred miles this weekend + a track day and although I could tell they were covered in dust, you wouldn't have said my wheels were mucky.

Exhaust tips look good too

Looking good. If you dont mind me asking how much did the cambelt change cost ? Im taking it you had the water pump done at the same time

Cheers everyone. I really don't want black wheels as i had them on my other car and they are really hard to photograph the detail with black wheels. Think i may go with the usual dark grey, check out a few different shades 8)

Cost just under £600 for cambelt with waterpump and a service with all the usual bits changed. Fred was ace, very nice guy, dont think ill be going anywhere else from now on, the trip was defo worth it!

I'm thinking of selling the 197 now and getting a 172 or 182! Reason being i'll be buying my own house soon and every penny counts. I'm not yet 100% that i want to sell because i know i'll miss it but it does make sense to free up some cash.

What would you guys say its worth?

2007 (Will come will all mods except the private plate)
41k miles
fsh including recent cambelt, aux belt and water pump service done by fred at btm
4 new tyres
11 months mot
5 months tax
HPI clear
2 keys
It has all the standard bits plus the stereo upgrade with cd changer, cup spoiler and climate control.
Nothing wrong with it at all, running great!
What do you guys think?

I finally decided not to sell! But to freshen her up a little. As we talk she's getting all 4 wheels refurbed and sprayed Nissan grey and all 4 calipers painted blue! Will have pictures when I get her back

The thing I don't get is that you say every penny counts and your thinking of downgrading your car, then you not only decide to keep it but you also decide to spend more money on it :s

And no I'm not having a go or anything, your not the first person I've seen doing this but it just doesn't make sense to me.

Because, its a lovely car! also, situations change in 3 months, in this case it looks like the good change (197's staying!!! )

Where are you getting the callipers done? and are they been taken completely off the car or masked up?

Always the right choice not selling the baby!

I decided not to sell because my situation has changed, yes still every penny counts although I decided that I wasn't going to make enough to make the downgrade worth my while. This had full mot, tax and recent Cambelt and service with no faults. I couldn't risk getting a car that may need all this on top of purchase price...

Anyway, I have friends who are doing the work for me at mates rates and their work is outstanding. I can't wait for it to be finished although we've had a rough start and my locking wheel nut key is damaged and I can't get the wheels off :-/

It's been a bad start to say the least lol... Went to Renault to see if they can help and they quoted me 140 quid to remove and replace the locking nuts :-/

Thanks guys, I love my Clio  its going to be hard to part with her when the time comes... Or should I say 'IF the time comes'!
