While I appreciate that the RS clio has different front and rear wheel houses, I just wondered if anyone had tried the standard Clio moulded mudflaps, and if it was a complete no-go?

I don't know, but these things can often be persuaded, I was just wondering if anyone had tried.
Don't forget it isn't a skirt/extension as such at the front wheel house, rather a reprofiled arch, which sits proud of the bodywork, so the sill profile at that point might be similar enough to get away with it.

went to renault to ask them got any mud flap laying around. So yes went outside to my car I try it out but won't fit & I give them back.

Good work, at elast it didn't cost you anything to find out! They should make something for the RS like this, the number of 197/200 owners that love their paintwork and would spend £30 on 4 bits of plastic to protect their pride and joy must be large enough to make it a profitable gesture surely to god!
