Shuv's Racing Blue 200...................

And i thought i was a hard task-master Jon

The logo needed to be 4.5" up to the centre. And the trimmer works in inches so he cut the panels 10 x 20".

Perhaps Recaro work in MM. Because there was no doubt the logo was 70mm wide. You must remember i'm an Engineer. If i got that drawing given to me at work - i myself would have pi55ed my pants: thinking "what clown did this" !

But what choice did i have ? lol

I managed to w̶a̶n̶k̶ ̶a̶w̶a̶y̶ ̶s̶o̶m̶e̶ ̶t̶i̶m̶e̶ ̶a̶t̶ ̶w̶o̶r̶k̶ ̶t̶o̶d̶a̶y̶ use my ample break-time wisely and visit the embroider today to take my freshly cut pieces of leather in. Just aswell i'd ordered a large cow and had plenty spare...... :sunglasses:

SHE and the resulting RECARO logo are going to be the dog danglies i have no doubt. She was mid 50's perhaps, will have seen and done it all before, was very studious and 'into' what she does. And she's the proprietor so has a vested interest.

She had already tried numerous different backing's on my leather which she'd then embroidered onto: to trial it in operation. And she'd then also done 3 or 4 slightly different sized / thicknesses of lettering of RECARO logo's on some fabric so i could see which one i liked. Which i saw and looked awesome. Wish i'd have had a camera to hand.

The irony of all this faffing around to this point; is the fact she's literally 1 mile from my house. DOH.......

But if you hadn't done all your due diligence you wouldn't be where you are now mate!

That's awsome customer service! Sounds like they're going the extra mile. Really not anything like enough of that these days!

With a desire to leave my car in the garage clean for the next couple of weeks........and an even stronger desire not to sweat my nads off achieving that in today's predicted sunshine and heat ! This morning started with a 4.30am alarm. Yes - you read that correctly

The inside was cleaned last night inc windows, all plastics treated, the hoover of all hoovering sessions, leather gear gaitor and steering wheel cleaned, dash treated etc.

Wheels cleaned thoroughly first thing today, followed by a snow-foam, going over some of the intricate details badges etc with a detailing brush and a weak shampoo-mix, hand-wash with a mitt, jet-wash off and do under the arches at the same time, hand-dry and then 2 coats of Sonax BSD to paint and wheels, treat the exterior plastics , dress the tyres and clean exterior window surfaces !

Have a great Bank Holiday weekend 'chaps'.

That is serious dedication! Even I don't get up that early for work! The results are worth it though, Shuv - she looks fantastic! Great work.

Car looks absolutely stunning mate. But then it always does. I bet half the folks on here would have got up at 4:30, got down to the car, stepped back and looked at it and though, well hey it looks mint, my work is done here, and gone back to bed!

Hope you all have a fantastic holiday mate.

Single Recaro cover with logo in original / stock Renault factory position ordered from Capital seating. They are now back in stock (With the logo) if anyone else is debating. Cheaper on eBay too being post free this way.

I'm determined to 'set these seats free' at weekends. I'm also determined to keep them clean from work grime once done

Hence the order.....

TBH mate, you have to have the covers off at the weekend! No sense getting them covered otherwise! It's nice having them look pretty for pics etc but you HAVE to use them, not keep them good for someone else.

Chant wait to see them

First thing back in the UK; was a trip to the embroiderers this afternoon to collect my Recaro seat patches !

Look great [In essence - but read on.....]:

IMG_7042_zps8iqmscgf.jpg

I spoke to the lady Tuesday (?) and she said she'd make sure they were ready for Thursday.....so i presume they've not been done very long. She wasnt there herself to ask.

I SERIOUSLY hope the marks from the clamp they've clearly used to hold it still while it was embroidered 'disappears' from the leather over time though :flushed:

Not to worry i think; i'll console myself by unwrapping the new Recaro protective seat cover from Capital Seating laying here ready. I'd had 3 or 4 emails with them and had waited until the correct ones [With recaro logo in same position as original renault seats were back in stock] - and stipulated this by email and on my payment notes after receiving confirmation from them:

"Hi Syer,
Thanks for the email.
Yes the CS05-33 protective seat covers are now available to order.
The Recaro logo is embroidered where the original Recaro logo is located on the seat.
Thanks
XXXXX
Capital Seating"

So after all the research, careful planning and waiting: why the fook have i received this then ? :coldsweat:

So i've further consoled myself this afternoon with 6 litres of this for the engine:

And a couple of litres of this for the gearbox. Thinking that regular fresh fluid changes wont hurt any car ! :

****The fact that both of this Fuchs stuff gets good reports here in regard of both; and was just less than £50 for 6 litres of Engine Oil, 2 Litres of Gearbox, an Oil filter and Free delivery to my door makes this a no-brainer.

I did consider buying a new air freshener too. I might try that tomorrow and see if my luck's changed by then. Not sure if a dare today.....

Surely life isnt meant to be this painful ? :smirk:

God you must have missed your car..so much care and love as soon as you are back in UK :thumb:
those marks should disappear..i have a leather sofa and no marks stay for too long

Welcome back.

Sure those marks will go. Stitching looks pretty damn good.

Capital seating... my god. What a shambles. Did you give them a product code?

I'm sure it will all get sorted.

Good to have you back fella. Don't let the post holiday blues get to you too much!

Its better than that Mes. They actually gave me a product code for the "3/4" logo position as above. And thats what i got !

I managed to catch them before 5pm.....and the guy i've been dealing with was doing his nut in as to why the logo is in the 'wrong' position (They do two types and this is the opposite position to that i wanted - but with the correct code for the position i wanted !). He's checking tomorrow and getting back to me. I have no doubt they'll sort it. Just wasting my precious time going backwards. Again !

Might have a 'massage' with the leather pieces while i sit here. I'm sure they'll be fine. Stitching looks the same or better than Capitals on the cover to be fair.

Its not really holiday blues M8. Every single thing i've touched today has gone to shit. Its just one of them days.

The worst of which being a completely seized handbrake in the car-park at Gatwick which caused an untold amount of onward issues. What a welcome back that was ! We had a torrential downpour on the way there......but then 40 miles of dry roads to finish. I didnt think anything of applying the handbrake gently and leaving it in gear......

I shall learn from it though !

Hope you've had a good holiday Shuv. Just a shame you had to come back to a bit of a headache.... This has been really up and down hasn't it!! I hope the end result makes up for the kerfuffle with it all  my fingers are crossed for you buddy!

Firstly; rather than sprout on about upgrades, money spent, new parts coming or anything else - i'd like to quickly say about the fact that i've had this car around 13 months now. And i still smile [Without fail] every single time i open the garage door. I pretty much glance back at it every time i park up (Especially if i've got "just" the right angle) - and i still enjoy every single mile behind the wheel........

My personal modifications have all worked out great, and the last 11 months the car has been completely faultless and a joy to own. I havn't had so much as a blown bulb. After a pretty bad start ref: sticking brakes, manifold blowing, remap 'issues' etc - finally some cheap, fun motoring !

For me its 'only' a work car - but i think i'd struggle to find anything more fun for the roads i use and the way i drive. One of my better purchases

So.....to try to treat the old girl right and show it some love back (With the forecast this weekend being HOT). I thought what better thing to do than hydrate the little Blue Clio with some fluid:

IMG_7104_zpspsc1y9uu.jpg

Then sometime over the weekend i shall be loading up this pair of slightly sorry looking things:

IMG_6433_zpsite40zmm.jpg

And taking them, 6 square metres of cow, and a pair of these:

IMG_7042_zps8iqmscgf.jpg

To someone like this:

8%20003_zpsjr60uea1.jpg

So they end up looking a little more like this:

11_zpspxpdrmer.jpg

Cant believe its all taken so long. It must be 3 months ago i started looking for the right pair of Recaro's. Anyway:

GAME ON !

Have a great weekend folks.........
