Ryan's 197 Progress

Hi all, Im new here so go easy on me.

Ill start with abit of my car history

My first car was a Vauxhall Corsa, which i had for about 3 years. Loved this car and went to quite a few shows with it.
This is it at its best, PVS 2011

After the Corsa i thought an upgrade was needed, So went in search of a Zetec-S.

Heres how i bought it

Done a trackday at silverstone in it, This is when i realised i wanted more power.

Then it went on Cossie wheels and this was how it finished

So with that out the way, Here is the new car

Its on a 57 plate with 36,000 miles.
All standard apart from a scorpion cat-back system.

Plans are:-
Refurb wheels - Im thinking anthracite like the cup wheels
Plain number plates to remove dealer names
Already removed the ncap sticker and the elf sticker from the back window
Got the renault sport steering wheel badge already
Also it needs detailing
Thinking about getting a panel filter but need some advice on this

When i picked the car up the engine bay was quite a mess, lots of leaves and dirt so first step was to clean it out.

Got this lot out the grills and under the scuttle

Ended with this - Finished with meguiars trim gel

Welcome buddy,

Nice little selection! Can't make my mind up on the cossie wheels though haha.

Your car is identical to how mine started out  Nimbus <3

Enjoy it mate.

Made a few small changes the last few days.

Started with an itg panel filter

Fitted LED interior lights, they look awesome and are super bright.

Also got a net for the boot, saves things banging around.

Todays mod was silver indicator bulbs.

Next on the list is to get the wheels refurbed, They had bad kurbing when i bought it and one has started to peel. Im thinking of getting them done anthracite, similar to the cups and then paint the calipers. Not sure what colour yet though.

Ryan where did you get those door sills from mate? Can you link me?

I noticed mine were all cracked on one side the other dayyyy.

Cars looking good! Black alloys for sure

Always liked the cossie wheels on modern cars. Nice nimbus mate, think anthracite would look good.

I quite like black on Nimbus.

I think im going to get them done anthracite and do the calipers red like on the nimbus cup models

Cheers buddy, here's the link for the door strips http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/400263407172

Is that corrosion I see in the alloy spoke? If so, the wheels will need sand blasting.

yh small amount of corrosion on the spoke, hopfully its not too bad once the paint has been removed

Done some more small bits today.

Debadged the C L I O from the back, Looks loads cleaner imo

Also fitted some clean number plates with the dealer name and border removed

Also fitted an AUX cable, no more fiddling about with cd's

Still getting used to them, i think they will look better when they have the stickers on and the wheels have been painted

So had my wheels refurbed this morning, Man in the van came, his setup was mint, bead breaker and all the air tools to refurb them in he front half then the paint shop in the back half along with a Uv microwave to bake them. he the compressor just inside the back door.

It took him about an hour per side and done a fantastic job

Also finished off painting the brakes and putting the stickers back on

Oo what was the company name and how much if you don't mind me asking? I need mine done and this would be convenient as it could be done while I'm at work!

Looking good mate.
