it wasn't a total ****ter tbh, the car is still going strong now and i am bet u my lifes wages, it will out last any other meg conversation out there.

Now, on to peter, i do believe there has been wrong on all parties here but, when you work on your car you need to know what your doing your self. I believe you hooked up a couples of pipes incorrectly which then puts the car in to a "safe mode" and limits the booooooost pressure.
Now this would be one of the reason why your car was running abit under the weather. Paul charged you to swap two pipes over that took him a matter of mins to do. Also, how much were your injectors? I can get them for £200 for the set. Are you then saying you paid £600 for a remap? If so, this must be the mother of all remaps for that price. I have known for years that paul uses Henks maps. My map was a map from henk.
I cant get the bit where is slates "his own map"? So SC supposedly loaded an RST stage two map on your car (pauls known for locking his maps btw), and paul slated his own map? Something isnt adding up here?
Going from Litchy's project thread, you knew your self, to get 350/350, you will need a new fuel system, end of no questions asked.

You've wrote this email and put your car up at the same time? Do you really think people will touch it after they have seen this thread?
Wondered when you'd get involved. But you're wrong on a few facts there.

Besides...why wouldn't it sell? Car now runs and drives spot on. I've been through all the hard work and pain so someone else doesn't have too....

My 630cc's where £200 from the states, exactly the same as RS and other sell for double over here...
Paul sells them for 200 plus vat which isn't the cheapest but when you're in that position where you need them...you just have too. I would have done the plugs as well had he had them in stock.

That's def not true. Andy and Henk mapped my car and it made 205bhp (****ing lousy). I took it to Paul (with a ****tier exhaust on actually and it was making only 195bhp at that point), and Paul mapped it to 215bhp. If I had a decent exhaust (i.e without the 10bhp deficit) then at the point I went to Paul I'm sure it would have made the 220bhp-225bhp the cams should have delivered. Regardless he delivered the results.

As for Henk's signatures in the Hex, as far as I understood what Paul was saying is that he uses Henk's software to map so I'm not surprised. After all Henk decodes the ECU's, writes the software and I expect as you say probably starts the ball rolling with the first maps that hit the market. However at that point I'd speculate Paul then uses those and the software but of course manipulates the fuelling and ignition tables etc to suit - and it is this that really counts not what's used to upload to and manipulate the ECU, thus leaving some signatures behind. So to suggest Paul doesn't map is simply not true.

Rich, Paul openly admits to using Henks files! Ask him! Or someone tag him into this thread. Plus I've seen it with my own eyes, I have no reason to tell lies!!!

No I wasn't saying you were telling lies, I've highlighted the parts on my post that are actually in line with what you are saying!!

I did however say that I only speculate simply because I'm not quoting something about someones work as fact without tangible proof. If you know it to be fact then great, it confirms my thoughts above.
But it would be missing the point to fixate where the map, software and tool to communicate with the ECU originate from. The chargeable service is in the IP of the work he puts into the fuel and ignition maps, testament to which I have sat on my drive! Henk's efforts were **** so it really doesn't matter if he's a genius at decoding and programming if he can't translate that into a map. - Anyway that's getting a bit off topic.

Also my remap was a lengthy and custom affair, much like Rouges likely was? So how things differ for a generic flash and go map on pretty stock cars I wouldn't like nor even care to speculate about.

I'll post a picture to prove my point in the next day or two, from what I understand - and from a heated debate myself and Paul had on a fb site a few months ago; he uses Henks 'base line' files then tweaks them to the car.

That's like my buying you a B&Q kitchen, fitting it to your house then saying I made it. Just because I had to trim things here and there to get it in your house doesn't make it of my creation! Fair enough it fits alot better after my adjustments - but it's not 'my product'

Ps I'm not a kitchen fitter btw lol, just using it as an example!

From what I've seen with my own eyes, Henks signature is throughout Paul's supposed 'custom files', when in reality they are a generic flash map tweaked to minor changes in mods/ cars.

Well a kitchen needs to be fitted well, I've got a decent quality kitchen but I reckon it must have been fitted by an asshole. I **** you not a shelf fell off its pegs today, smashed 7 of my side plates

It's just semantics over where the base file started life really. Saying his custom maps are tweaked via minor changes is the sort of slander (for want of a better word) that I try to avoid. For reference Paul went through 30 iterations of map on mine and said it took more work to map than even a supercharged one he'd done the week before. Clearly we have a situation where some will take less and some more work to map, but when all you need to adjust is adaptations to the main maps, who gives a crap?

I think the point I'm making is who cares if 90% of the work was done by Henk and Paul leverage's that toolset. The last 10% is the bit we care about and what we are really paying for.

Ouch. That's bad. Regardless what people say in regards to Ste's good or bad workmanship, in your case - and going from what I read in your post - is bad.

- Chopping my car when tackling the fueling without my permission. I would go mental for that and I don't think I'd stay only to words..
- Lying about the injectors. Doesn't matter if they cost £200 or £1000. He lied, bang on out of order.
- Coolant issues. Doesn't matter if it's a common thing with the conversions or not, if the specialist said he repaired it I'd expect him to have done so. Plain and simple.
- Total misinformation regarding the conversion/upgrades. What on earth? They guy has done so many conversions and he knows how 300bhp on a clio feel like. How exactly did he sleep at night when he delivered your car to you with 80 bhp short? Another lie there...
- Turbo? It's clearly not what he initially said he'd use. Is there any explanation for that? Because if not I'm sure there are laws out there protecting the customer...right?
- Car locked up in the garage for a year? For a year? Really?? If things went that much tits up then he should have prioritise your car and not taking over other jobs which made him not even answering his emails...

I won't bother with the rest of the bad workmanship signs...only the above would be more than enough to make me go down the legal route.

There were mentions in here about RST and how expensive they are. Well yeah, but at the end of the day they managed to fix the car and make it run properly. Yes at a price but the car is now healthy and Peter now know what is wrong and how he will proceed. In one day he managed to get to the bottom of it which is really important. It doesn't matter what maps Paul uses, he got the job done. I'm not Paul's friend, I'm only going of what I've read in here, info which applies to Peter's car. Not really interested in what Ste did at his mate's car or on another car, he clearly ****ed up here...massively.

Good luck whichever route you decide to take Peter, I know which one I'd take...

Thought I had a special Clio when I was keeping up with you when we were both up the top end... Awh :worried:

You still smashed everyone with the bottom end torque though, it just seemed your top end was ... lacking...

Glad it's sorted now. Why not enjoy the car for a bit? After all, you've gone through all the trouble! I can see it really gripping your anger when you look out the window and think of all that money that has gone in to the car!

Just time move on to newer things. She's still a pleasure to drive, but I think an upgrade is due. If I keep it I'll only be tempted to put more money into it and get more power...

Yeah, at the time it seemed like the power you had in it was the top end of a 197/200 but all the way through; if that makes sense. It's like you didn't need to rev it, it was just there. Was a bullet when you were showing me so I can only imagine what it's like now with 300. Such a **** shame you've gone through all this...I can imagine being like a child on Christmas waiting for the car back, but it must be gutting getting a faulty present...

Don't sell it for less than what you think it's worth... It's an animal and you'll at least want to get some money back!
