Removing height adjustment from Renault Recaro

Ladies and gents,

Has anyone ever thought about removing the height control gubbins of their Recaro drivers seat? I will certainly never use the height adjustment functionality and thought it could be a way to stiffen the subframe and possibly lose a little weight. Not looked at it in detail, however I am looking at buying the lowered subframe so whilst its out I thought it would make sense.

Where are you buying the lowered subframe from? Could do with dropping my seat an inch or so..

There’s a guy on here offers just such a thing, it replaces the lowering mechanism and is said to lower the seat by 6-7cm.

It costs £175 plus £30 postage from Hungary.
