R/B 197. Carbon Update!!

Hi Guys and Girls,

Well ive had my 197 for four months now and have finally got the ball rolling with a few mods, nothing to major yet but i have some ideas that might progress.

Anyway i thought it would be rude not to let you guys know what ive been up to, so heres a little start to my progress thread.

Heres my car as i brought it..









A few weeks ago I wrapped my front diamond in carbon fibre just to see what it looked liked with the view to buying one from streamline carbon, but im rather pleased with the look at the front now so its stayed on. I also fitted a ITG panel filter.



A boot net to keep my balls safe.



The rusty screws in the spoiler caps were annoying me everytime i looked at them so i painted them black.



I then changed the steering wheel as my one was peeling and doing my head in, a friend of mine came up trumps with a brand new cup steering wheel FOC, so although it wasnt quite a 'full fat' one like mine, i just couldnt turn it down.

Now since i purchased the car, the wheels have not been in a great state so over the weekend i brought some from RalphyBMW and i had them fitted today. Very happy with the results!








The car is now looking how I want it, Just a few bits on my to do list;

Buy two more Anthracite centre caps.
Remove white renaultsport stickers on the side.
Remove 'CLIO' badge.
Fit some h&r lowering springs.
Get the centre surround painted or wrapped as its worn near the stop/start button.

After all this my car should look exactly how i want it but who knows after that, maybe look into power gains, although im happy with things how they are.

Car looks excellent with the new wheels on. Glad your gonna be removing the white sticker as thats the only negative point.

Yea thats the one thing i dont like about it but ive yet to get round to it and im not sure of the best way to attack it lol.

Thanks, there heated aswell , i eventually want to get my hands on some recaros though and have them re-trimmed to match.
Might be hard to sell mine tho.

This looks great! Interior really sets it off nicely, and you have the full RS skirt kit which looks good.

Were the seats heated as standard?

A decent hair dryer should see you good with the sticker. Really warm it up until it easily peels off then wipe down any residue with some tar remover.

No i dont think they were, i believe they were a previous owner had them put in.

If i ever come across some recaros then i will be selling mine! only the fronts tho :thumbdown:

I cant complain with the seats i have tho, recaros just make it a little bit more special tho.

yeah, defiently recaros FTW, lol. i have an rb 200 mate, and specified renault not to put the clio badge on the bootlid, and it looks much better without it. wheels look excellent!!

Very nice mate! I remember when this one was up for sale, I really wanted it but it was just a couple months too early for me haha. Looks really nice and you've already done some nice touches to it with the wheels and spraying those rusty screws!

stunning car!! those seats are really nice.. i think the ones that used to be in mine (trimmed recaros) that chappo put it looked ace!! shame there not in now

yea i do love them but i can only long for the ones chappo used to have. They were the same trim and looked absolutely amazing, im keeping my eyes peeled for a poor condition set of recaros that i can have re trimmed. Not holding out much hope tho lol

Not updated in a while but found a few pics of lilttle bits that i done.

Centre caps are off, side decals and CLIO badge have been removed.

Centre console and side strips are away being carbon wrapped atm, should get them back tomorow hopefully and il see how theyve turned out.

Anyway just a couple of pics..
