Pressure Wash Help

....I am thinking of getting my better half to buy me a pressure washer for Christmas.....any recommendations....also, do you have to have a special attachement to use snow foam or is it a case of buying the foam and using the basic lance....what sort of price is Snow Foam??

Tesco are doing the Karcher 2.36 for £50 at the moment. I use this with a foam lance (i4detailing £46.00) to produce a very thick foam. Nilfisk offer an alternative and some say better quality but they're all much of a muchness. You have to order the lance for your fitting. Don't expect foam to do amazing things, I'm of the impression that the foaming process offers little when it comes to shifting grime.

a cheap preasure washer with a long hose will do the job just as good as you dont want to put a high power jet of water straight at the car anyways.

i got one that was on offer at argos and then bought the longest high preasure hose i could find off ebay.

this is the lance i got...

Jase, when you say long hose is this so you can move around the car without moving the pressure washer about? Or will I also have to buy a special hose to connect the washer to the water supply? Sorry bout the silly questions....bit of a novice on this as I have always been a strict hand wash guy!

I've recently purchased a Nilfisk ALTO C120.4-6 X-TRA that is on offer on Screwfix at the moment. I have to say it's absolutely superb and really compact so I'd recommend one of those.

cheers for you advice all! Now, I've noticed that snow foam itself is quite expensive. Being as tight as a knatschuff, I was wondering how much soap these things use. I don't want to end up spending £20 each time I wash my car with it....especially as its white and needs washing every time I move it out of the garage!

hose from the machine to the lance, as you say so you can move around the car without moving the washer.

I'd buy the pressure washer after Christmas in the sales. I got one that retailed at £350 for half price in Homebase one January. I've had the smaller cheaper ones and they all died after hardly any use!
